I posted this somewhere here on this site (I don't know my way around very well) - My flame action does not work. I have searched and searched for a manual, directions, anything on the net, and have found nothing. Does anyone know who the manufacturer is? Maybe they have a website with info...

No heat. Everything else is working. The heat will come on for about 2 minutes then goes cold.

Take the fan power switch apart and clean the 2 point contacts. Also clean the 4 male studs that the wires plug into. That should solve the problem.

My problem was lights but the heater would come on for 30 seconds then shut down. I found a loose wire on the electric motor assembly for the blower fan. I had disassembled the complete before I found the loose terminal. It only required some soldering. Works fine now.

Make sure heater is unplug. now take back cover of heater off. now the silver cover has 5 screws housing the heater and fan for heater. remove this cover. check make sure there is not a wire come unplug from unit. if it has plug it back put silver cover back and then back cover. problem should be solved./ if not its a bad relay switch. I'm a female/ so anyone can fix it with a lil common sense.

Mine is starting to smoke and smells like plastic is burning. I took off the back panel and found a burning piece of plastic where all the hard wiring goes into the main heater itself. I'm very upset about this and thankfully we were all home at the time. I would hate to think what would happen if my teens had been home alone.

We had the same problem except the fireplace shorted out and caught fire. (thank god we were home). After fighting for about 2 months we did recieve a replacement insert. It has been a year and now its getting very very hot.

I am almost totally confused. You started out saying you have a Charmglow Electric Fireplace. Then you said you want to change it from natural gas to propane.

Could you please be a little more specific in what you have? So I can help you. As Charmglow only makes Electric Fireplaces. No gas ones.

Thanks, I look forward to hearing from you.

The switch that turns on the heat in my twin star charmglow fireplace burned out, is there a replacement switch that you sell?

I'm sorry, but we don't sell any parts or appliances here on FixYa. We simply provide information on how troubleshoot and/or repair many things. With that said, I can tell you, from what you described, you need more than just and ON/OFF Switch, if in fact, it "burned out". Something else electrically is wrong with your electric fireplace-heater to cause that.

Unfortunately, you failed to mention the Model Number of your Charm Glow Fireplace, so I can't steer you, to where you may be able to find a replacement switch. If you can provide that information, I may be able to help you.

Charmglow electric fireplace flame does not flicker. Bulbs ok. HEF33WDG

You will have to connect a 12v dc power supply to the flame motor. The controller on the board has fried. I built a regulated 12 v dc power supply and tapped it into the bulb circuit so it will power the motor when the bulbs come on. You may have to find an electrician or techie to rig this up safely.Good luck!
