I have a GE Medallion Dishwasher that must be 25-30 years old. How do I measure the height of the dishwasher? Do I measure from the floor. It's a built in dishwasher. The width is 24". I believe that height is about 34". The serial number of the dishwasher is 568B382H20.

Under the counter dish washers are very standardized. Just measure the current counter height and width of the opening. Nearly everything will fit unless it's a special order. GSD500G install dimensions are available on-line. Just Google the Model Number.
You can find them on a label on the tub wall just inside the door. However 99% of all DW are a standard size and the difference is made up by adjustments of the threaded leveling /adjustment legs.
Standard size is 24" x 32-36"...you can take a tape measure and measure from the floor to the bottom of the countertop it is to be installed under...and then measure across the front of the DW. you should find my measurements to be within this range unless it is a custom unit.
Hope this helps. ...good luck and good day...The Fang
It sounds as if you want reassurance that you should replace your dishwasher.. The costs associated with replacing the racks themselves and the gasket on the door ( depending on who does it) might justify the purchase of a replacement model.. Plus newer models are more energy efficient that the older ones.. 7 years of use is a fairly long time so you've gotten your money out of it... I always use this litmus test to validate the purchase.. if the cost to repair is close to or exceeds the cost to replace, then replacement makes sense.. Very subjective indeed.. hope you make the right choice.. :-)
