Question about GE Dishwashers

1 Answer

Replacement for an old diswaher

I have a GE Medallion Diswasher but I don't know how old it is. I would guess that it's about 25-30 years old. I'm thinking of getting a new diswasher. I am not sure how to measure the height. Do I measure from the floor? I would guess that the height is about 34" from the floor. The width is 24". The serial number is 568B382H20.

All dishwashers, with few wxception are made to a standard width and height. but you would take the from the floor to underside of counter.

I need a thermostat and an element for a GE Medallion 850 Electric dryer repair man told me we can no longer find parts for this model it's too old. Anyone know of a website i'm having no luck.

Try calling GE Appliance Parts at 1-877-959-8688, or Sears Parts Direct at (888) 930-1491. If they don't have the parts, you probably are out of luck.

Ge diswasher won't fill with water

When the program is switched on if there is no water flow despite the fact that the inlet flow is good, then the inlet valve is defective. it can be a failed valve if there is no action and if the flow is low then it can be a clogged valve. Remove, back flush and reset, if not replace, provided there is power to the valve.

Hello Kathy J...

It sounds as if you want reassurance that you should replace your dishwasher.. The costs associated with replacing the racks themselves and the gasket on the door ( depending on who does it) might justify the purchase of a replacement model.. Plus newer models are more energy efficient that the older ones.. 7 years of use is a fairly long time so you've gotten your money out of it... I always use this litmus test to validate the purchase.. if the cost to repair is close to or exceeds the cost to replace, then replacement makes sense.. Very subjective indeed.. hope you make the right choice.. :-)

You need to check your water temp after it enters the diswasher, it should be at least 120 deg when it get in the dishwasher. If it not then the detergent, food, and greese can't break down.
