Question about JVC AV-32F704 32" TV

JVC AV-32F704 32" TV Picture is blurry - cannot read any writing on the screen

I have a 3 year old JVC 32" flat screen television Model AV-32F704. I turned the tv on the other night and heard a loud popping and crackling noise. The tv came on and the picture is very blurry. I can see characters on the screen but reading any writing on the screen is almost impossible. It is like looking at something that is constantly out of focus. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: JVC AV-32F704 32" TV Picture is blurry - cannot read...

You didn't mention if you saw fine white diagonal lines running through the screen from top to bottom. If so, you likely have a shorted Picture Tube which is not usually fixable. If there are no lines seen running through the screen, then it is possible the High voltage transformer which also has a screen voltage and focus control built in that could be bad. I would expect the cost of that part to be about $100, so the repair cost total could approach that of a new set I would guess.

No video on my JVC AV-30W475 30" flat screen.

It sounds like you have bad solder connections in the Vertical circuit or the horizontal circuit. The Vertical IC may need to be replaced if resoldering does not help.
You will need to call a good TV Tech for this repair.

The digital clock on my 30"JVC is showing in the bottom of screen

The menu screen does not function the display. Without the original remote or a universal remote that does not have a display button, try unplugging the television for at least 2 minutes or more and plug the tv back in. This should reset the tv display. If the universal remote has a display button, depress the display button until you get the desired display results. Reference the user guide below for the display button.

There are some parts that have failed in the horizontal scan amplifier. You will have to have the set serviced by a TV service tech to determine the exact failed parts and have them replaced.

Top of the screen Picture Problem

sound like you have 1 or a couple of leaky/bad capacitors in the tv's vertical circuit, typically, there sould be 5 to 10 caps. in all, but you just need 1 bad one to cause your problem. good luck.
