Set UP of HP Photosmart C7280 All-in-One Fax Printer Scanner Copi
HI, I am trying to set up my brand new HP Photosmart Express all in one Printer/Fax/ Copier/Scanner and can't get it to do anything, I even put the disk into this computer to see if that was the problem, doesn't seem so, and I ended up with a repeating loop for my efforts. The display screen just says "12345" in bright lime green, ....My husband is anxious to use this tonight, ....hours later from my starting, I still have made no headway with it.Please help me as even the "BASIC GUIDE" had nothing to help us with. Please has anyone any clue why this box new item won't even allow me to go to the next step in the setup?

There are multiple ways to use the scanner on your Mac. If your Mac recognizes the scanner as a device, then you can use the scan from the Mac using Preview or Image Capture apps (in your Applications folder). You can also use Picasa by going to the import function and finding the scanner and try it from there. If you are having issues getting the HP scanner to recognize the Apple device. Here is the official website for the download from HP. Apple drivers sometimes do the job of getting the scanner to be recognized, but the official drivers might do better.
depending on your scanner lay the document to be scanned face down scan the document at the end it will ask you what format to be saved in select color i found if you select grey scale it comes out blury then save it in my documents/my pictures create an email click insert file attachment select browse to this document then attach it done
hope this helps
Go to menu option and choose the option fax and set the parameter like auto receive or manual set the ring auto answer mode after certain ring. If it is in auto receiving mode it will receive the fax after the ring which you set. Make sure the phone wire which you insert in fax machine getting proper dial tone and getting out going calling facility. Hope this helps. Please rate my response. Thanks. Have a good day.
Check the preferences setting in your Printer Dialogue box (the pop-up that comes up when you attempt to print... the paper settings may be set to standard, which you can modify...
A quick-fix is also to simply print to plain paper, place the newly-printed form in the scanner, and press "copy" on the printer itself (the physical button, not from Windows), with the check paper loaded (place in just one sheet, as not to waste ink)
Clicked on Start/Control Panel/PrinterI. Clicked Add a printer. Obtained (Copy 1) of my HP Photosmart C7280 all-in-one printer. Right clicked on (Copy 1)/properties. Opened Ports tab. Saw comment "Print to the following Ports. Documents will print to the first free checked port." A listed USB Virtual printer port, showed three printers -- my first printer, my copy 1 (& my fax printer) -- was unchecked. I placed a checkmark in this Port box. Both the original printer, and my copy 1 printer are printing just fine. *I have not checked to verify that my fax is functional. I did rename the original "color". I renamed Copy 1 as "grayscale", and --under printer preferences, checked, under "color options", to print in greyscale.
