Have you tried using a lens cleaning disk, the laser optics might be fouled up, also check your disk again for fingerprints, as that can also give out a disk error

My dvd player is jammed. making a funny noise. will not open sayes opening then closing then disk error. SD 3750

Disk Errors are commonly caused over time by buildup of dust and dirt on the laser lens inside the player, which may prevent the laser lens from being able to scan the digital information encoded on the DVD. You will need to purchase a cleaning DVD and follow the instructions that come with it. Hope this helps Good Luck!

Won't format new DVD-RW disks

i did everyting today to fix this. bought new dvds, name brands different, tried finding codes, called the number. trust me. try this. clean it. thats All i did. cleaned it with a dvd cd cleaning disc, the one with two little brushes on it, nothing special, ran it until i heard the beep, popped my dvd in, they all worked. everyone, im still recording. i ran it about four times. now, if you tried to burn a dvd, and got the error, throw that dvd away. because i tried about ten dvds. after i fixed it, THOSE dvds were no longer usable. dont know why. hope this works.

Won't play dvd's

Try buying a Laser Lens Cleaner Disc from Wal-Mart, FYE music store, or any other place that might sell DVD players. Your Laser Lens that reads the DVD'S is full of dust. Try using the laser lens cleaner disc i mentioned to clean the laser lens.

LG DVD RECORDER MODEL DV7711P

I have had this on a number of other players. First try the disks in question on another DVD player after giving them a thorough clean. If they work there then you know the problem is not with the disks.

After that (assuming the RH299 is actually working in every other respect e.g. on HDD), run a laser cleaning DVD/CD in the machine to clean the laser lens. If your machine is out of warranty then you can try opening it and cleaning the laser lens with rectified spirits/pure alcohol. Then try the disks again. If they still don't play, then it's off to a local electronics expert to see if realigning or replacing the laser and transport mechanism is economically viable, or buy a new machine.

DVD will not load/format new disk

I have got exactly the same problem. Thought I had found some discs that worked as the first one formatted, since then all have come up with that crappy error protection message. Samsung really should sort this out.

Normal 0 This solution is most likely being submitted way too late tohelp "dingo 1295", but perhaps it will help others who run into thesame problem.

Just this past week, in January of 2009, I ran into the very same problem witha Panasonic DVD-CP67 DVD Player. The player would no longer play disks anddisplayed the H07 error. Now, I can't answer the question about what exactlythe H07 code is suppose to mean, but I can offer one possible solution for theDVD Player's inability to play disks and the subsequent display of the H07error. What happened in my case is that a film of dirt had built up between theelectrical contacts that are suppose to form a closed circuit when the player'sdisc drawer is closed. The two metal plates that make contact rub againsteach other and the abrasion eventually both creates and traps dirt where theplates touch. Therefore the player could no longer tell that the disk drawerwas closed because the dirt blocked the fragile electrical circuit from beingclosed. Since the player could not tell the drawer was closed it would not spinup and play any inserted disks. I'd also like to note that before the playerquite playing disks and started displaying the H07 error I was watching a DVDand did see the picture quality degrade until the video finally cut out and thedisk stopped.

The Solution in this instance was to carefully remove the cover from theplayer, after removing seven screws found on the back and sides of the player's case, and to clean the metal contacts with a non-abrasive eraser. The pink eraser ona NO. 2 pencil works perfectly.

On the back of the disk drawer, on the right side is a silver metal plate andat the back of the player, mounted on the plastic frame work around the platterthat picks up any disk placed in the player, is a folded copper plate held down with ascrew. Simply unscrew the copper plate and clean it with the eraser were itnormally touches the silver plate on the drawer when the drawer is closed, being sure you do not get any eraser dust inside the DVD player. Although thecopper plate will most likely be the plate with the most dirt on it you canalso clean the silver plate without removing it. Once cleaned, you can reattachthe copper plate with its screw.

Testing... You must place the cover back on the player before it will playdisks. The cover must be fully seated, but does not necessarily have to bescrewed on. You may have noticed when cleaning it that the copper plate has anupward folded tab that presses against the player's metal cover when the coveris closed. Without the copper plate touching the player's metal case throughits cover the previously mentioned electrical circuit won't be closed and theplayer won't play disks. With the cover properly back on the player go aheadand try and play a disk. If it works then the problem is solved and you canfinish screwing the cover back on. If the player still doesn't work thensomething more serious may be wrong and I would suggest contacting a servicecenter.

I hope this helps.

My SD1009U not sensing the DVD.

Some of the panasonic models had motor problems that cuased them to start not reading disks and give a error code on the display. Maybe yours just has a dirty laser pickup and you MIGHT be able to gently clean it off and see if it will play again, other then that it might well be worn out. most newer machines have a dual laser pickup, one is tuned for pressed cd's and DVD 's and the other is tuned for cdrw and dvdrw style disks.
