Install the software that came with the printer. There should be an ocr program included. That is the program to use to scan. Hope this helps.

My scanner is not working. I press Scan, copy to file using the + arrow, then press Set. The window reads connecting to PC...but nothing more happens. Finally the copier/scanner resets.

Hello.

This issue happens because ether your network settings got changed around, or the router need to be reset , or the computer that is assigned this "Folder" that the scanner scans to needs to be rebooted or its sharing options has changed.

Let me know if you have some more information before I proceed with step by step fix.

First:

1. Reboot the computer where the scan folder is assigned to.
2. Reboot/reset the router or switch
3. Check your network settings and cable.

I will stand by with further information once you reply to me.

Thanks

HOW DO YOU SCAN

Hello pjbenven!

To use the scan features, your device and computer must be connected and turned
on. The printer software must also be installed and running on your computer prior to
scanning. To verify that the printer software is running on a computer running
Windows, look for the device icon in the system tray at the lower-right side of the
screen, near the clock. To verify this on a computer using the Mac OS, open the HP
Device Manager, and click Scan Picture. If a scanner is available, it will launch the HP
ScanPro application. If it is not available, a message appears to let you know that a
scanner was not found.

To send a scan to a program on a computer from the device control panel (direct
connect)
1.
Load the original on the scanner glass. For more information, see Load originals.
2. Press the left arrow or the right arrow to select the Scan function, and then
press OK.
3. Press right arrow to select the program that you want to use (such as the HP
photo and imaging software), and then press OK.
4. Press Start.

I cant seem to find a scan option on my epson

Once all of the drivers are downloaded and the printer is connected to your computer, you can initiate a scan of a document two ways.

First, you can select Copy on the printer and it will copy the document placed on the scanner.

Second, you can scan a document to your computer by going to: Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint.

When the Paint program opens, (in the upper toolbar) click: 'File' and scroll to 'From Scanner or Camera'. Then, select your device (Epson scanner) and click, 'OK'.

Continue with the prompts and your scan will be imported into the Paint Program. To save your scan, Click, File > Save As > (name your document) and select a folder for your scan to be sent to.

If you found this information helpful, please give me a big thumbs up when you rate my answer. Thanks.

The device will not scan a paper document to my computer - the cord is connected and the driver is installed

First, power off your scanner, then shut down the computer. After reboot test the scanner again. If you still can't scan, verify that you have the correct driver for your scanner. To check for your current driver click start --> Control Panel --> Scanners and Cameras. Right click the icon associated with your scanner and select properties. You should be able to find driver info there. Verify this information at the manufacturers website as they will most likely have the updated drivers available for download. Also, for the best answers, in the future please include the make and model of your scanner and what operating system you are using.
