Question about Kodak EasyShare DX6490 Digital Camera
I tryed to download pictures from the docking station and it won't download . I never had this problem before .
Hello Billy, Sounds like a Windows OS problem, have you tried rebooting the PC ? You may have to uninstall the kodak software and reinstall it. try plugging the camera in directly to the PC with the usb cable. One of these should solve your problem.

There's a chance that the drop is irrelevant to your problem. You could try using a small eraser to clean the battery contacts down in the chamber (make sure to dump out any eraser particles) and try a new CRV-3 battery, which because of it's slightly longer body produces a little more pressure on the contacts. If that doesn't work to improve things then your cam might need a repair, your call there. Good luck

Unscrew some of the screws (the ones you can manage to remove), press on the little connector on the bottom, put some batteries in and try it. When I put the batteries in, it worked for me, and so I screwed it back up, and it's continued working pretty much. I think something might have gotten loose on these cameras. I thought mine was through, but it seems to work now!

Not a solution, but just today mine is doing the same thing. Left light is on but not charging. I thought maybe it was the batteries needed replacing, but putting the new ones in did not change a thing.
Do these cameras ever go defunct? Guess I will take mine to a camera shop tomorrow and see what they say.
And I just used it to take a picture the other day. Usually by pressing the left light it stars the charge.. but not today.

No guarantee, but try these easy steps before you do anything else. Unplug both ends of the cable that connects the dock to the computer, wait a few seconds then plug them back in and try the transfer again. If that doesn't help, uninstall the EasyShare software, then go to Kodak.com and download/install the latest software.

Make sure a card is installed. In any still or video mode, press the Menu button. Press up/down to highlight Image Storage then press the OK button. Press up/down to highlight Internal Memory then press the OK button. (You'll need to set this to Auto later if you want pictures to go to a memory card instead of the internal memory.) Press the Review button, then the Menu button. Press up/down to select Copy>> then press the OK button. Press up/down to highlight what you want then press OK.
