Go to the computer manufacturer's support website, and find the main page for your computer.
Click on the Drivers download tab.

Download, and Save, the Audio driver file.
Close all windows, go back to your desktop screen.

Go to the folder the audio driver was saved to, and Double-click on the audio file name.
(Opens file)

The Installation Wizard will come up.
Follow the easy instructions. (Essentially just click on Next, Next, and Finish at the bottom.
Windows knows the correct place to put the audio driver file. No need to change anything)

If you state the computer manufacturer's name, and it's Model Number, I can give you more exacting information.

[ On the back of the tower next to the Windows product key, or up on the side of the tower.
On the bottom of a laptop usually in a white Service Tag ]

My speakers are plugged in, the green light is on, but i accidentaly deleted my speakers on my computer and now they dont work. it tells me that there is a new device found but then it says you need a disc...

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it
you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling
a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this
right click to install driver also
click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers
click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the
(((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there
also
click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar
if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check
the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good
try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer
hope this helps

My nuvi 760 doesn't play sounds anymore - through the speaker or through the earphone jack. I deleted some mp3 files a while back and I wonder if I accidentaly delted a audio driver file. I'd like to check...

No, there ar no audio drivers. If you use the headphone jack a lot, it coul dbe that the headphone jack has broken loose from the board. The headphone jack also controls audio to the speaker. The headphone jack must either be resoldered to the board or replaced. Please see this link:

Accidentaly deleted my user account. Can i retrieve it back?

It is possible that it is still there.. If you are using XP you eill have to look on the
  1. My Computer
  2. C: drive(If that is where your windows is)
  3. Documents and settings
  4. Look to see if you see the deleted user account. You will not be able to restore the account, but you might MIGHT be able to gain access and use the file that are in there...
Good luck

Speakers Dont Work

Hi Matt,
You might want to do these following steps.
1. Right click my computer and go to manage 2. Click on Device manager on the left side of the window 3. Look for Sound, Video and Game Controllers and you should be seeing at least a driver for your audio. It might be a SoundMax or Realtek depending on the type of system.  If it doesn't show, you may need to install them. What is the brand of your computer and its model?

Alpine 7800F No sound, don't read.

Blown audio output IC, possibly from miswiring speakers, or accidentaly shorting out one of the speaker wires. It will need to be repaired, or replaced.
