Question about IBM 900SP Phone

Open Question

Good day. I have a Panasonic Head Phone Cordless 900 Mhz, that I went about 4 years ago. The cordless phone seemingly does not work. When I turn the cordless phone on, the light of it turns on but after a while it makes some bips and turn it of automatically. The "in use" light in the base does not turn on. Also, when I press the "locator" key in the base, it makes bips but the cordless phone does not bip. Seemingly there is no connection between both (base and cordless phone). When I put the cordless phone in the base, it charges. I bought a new battery and no work again. Kindly let me know what can I do. Thanks. Diego Lopez Paraguay - SouthAmerica.

Sir, what is wrong with my vtech cordless phones, im always getting this...

If you're having problems with clicking, like the edges are hard to click, or the screen in general is hard to click, the following is how to remedy it.
Tools:
  • Torx T6 screw driver
  • Small needle
Steps to follow:
  • Take off back cover
  • Locate red sticker (water detection sticker)
  • There is a t6 screw under the sticker and directly across from it
  • The problem is that sometimes these screws are too tight
  • Start by loosening the exposed screw a tiny bit, then check the clicking on the screen - if this doesn't work, loosen a little more. If the clicking still doesn't work correctly, move on to next step
  • Remove the sticker with the small needle (this will not void your warranty) - loosen the screw as you did with the first screw -
  • Check the clicking to see if it works better - if not loosen screws more
  • Replace the sticker
  • Replace back cover
Your screen should now be clicking better. Thanks

HI We would really like to purchase a phone Uniden 900 Mhz. We have one but its no longer working. Happy to pay whatever it costs to get same type/brand. Omar Merhi 0418 513 127

You can try EBay, they usually have at least one of everything available.

Here are some listings that came up when I searched for UNIDEN 900 CORDLESS PHONE:

http://shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=uniden+900+cordless+phone&_sacat=0&_odkw=uniden+900+cordless+phone+answer&_osacat=0&_trksid=p3286.c0.m270.l1313

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the information at the website indicated.

You can always try different words in your EBay search and you will come up with different results. If you have the model number for your phone then try searching for that and you should get some better results.

Good luck.

My Sony SPP-930 cordless phone is about 15 years old. Just recently it stopped working. The base lights work fine but when I lift the handset off the base and press TALK, all I get is 4 beeps. I bought a...

The problem is in the main base, the cordless phone is unable to communicate with the base because it has stopped working that is why you are getting the four beeps. It is more cost effective to replace the complete phone system than repair. The only other possibility "and it is long short" unplug the power and the phone line cord from the wall and let it sit at least 30 minutes, this might reset the processor ic and get your system working again.

Can't hear the callers! (Some times better than others.)

There have been infinite advances in cordless phone technology in the last 15 or 20 years. Since 20 years is a long time to have a phone, I would suggest replacing it with a new one. But, no matter how good your phone is, today's urban environments are a communication nightmare because of all the variable obstacles which can get in the way of radio wave propagation. The only solution appears to be a cellular phone whose systems are improving all the time to offer increasingly reliable service. But the cost of cellular is so high that some people have compared it to legalized organized crime; they know we need their service and they can charge whatever they want. I love my cordless phone, but even with all the modifications and improvements I have made, it is still severely limited. My only option has been to use my cellphone to remain mobile and this link has made the cost a lot more palatable: (http://www.3centcell.ca/admin/affiliate.aspx?314 )
I hope this is helpful to you.

Range extender for cordless phone

Ours behave similarly. The solution is to position the "base" (one connected to the phone lkine physically) in the center of the home so that the limited range can reach the remote phones at the periphery.
These phones operate at 1.9GHz. At that microwave frequency radio signals do not penetrate walls and floors very well. 2.4 GHz phones suffer increased "path loss" and are no better. The solution for any of these microwave phones is more transmitter power, which is illegal.
900 mHz phones actually work better because at 900 MHz nature offers less signal path loss", but try to find them in stores! For the same transmitter power level a 900MHz phones will have noticeably greater range.
The 1.9GHz D.E.C.T. phones also operate differently from other types of cordless phones and I believe that also contributes to dropped calls and the phone's inability to ring when a call arrives. At the fringe of its range you can see how it struggles to establish a link. Once established it will work well and then simply drop the call when you least expect. I am not a fan of the DECT phones, but they do not interfere with 2.4 GHz wireless routers, etc.
