Question about Dell Inspiron 1501 Notebook
I'm trying to connect my laptop to my TV via a VGA to RCA/S-Video cable (link to product below). However, when everything is plugged in and I hit Fn+F8 (which is the CRT/LCD switch), nothing happens.
I've tried both the S-Video and RCA cables (separately, of course) but neither work. The TV will flicker, while the computer doesn't recognize any connected devices.
Would this be a problem with the VGA adapter I purchased, or would it be a problem with the laptop/operating system? Or am I just doing this all wrong?
VGA adapter I'm using:
The PC card you have doesnt appear to work with that adaptor. Dell Has its own Svideo / Video output adaptors.
You need a converter not an adaptor. Try looking on Amazon for this: ITV-900 PC to TV Converter
