My WMP was functioning OK but now it's having a hissy fit and refuses to sync. When I hit the sync tab, it invites me to create a playlist but it also has up the top the request to insert a device. This despite the fact that my MP3 player is plugged in to the USB port.

So when I have created a playlist the "Start Sync" tab will not activate.

Other functions such as play and burn are OK.

    Can anyone help me..............please?

Plug my player in it goes instantly to media player to transfer. Says it transfered songs but no where to be found on player?

You must have Windows Media Player configured to run automatically when your Clip is plugged in. This is OK, but unless you have the Clip configured within WMP to actually have music synced to, no music will be synced to it.

When WMP runs, you should find your Sansa Clip in the vertical list on the left side. Right click on it and select "Set up sync", then follow the instructions from there.

I'm trying to add to my player. The player itself says it's connected but the Windows Media Player isn't recognizing that it is connected. The start Sync button is not reacting when I click on it. Problem?

I;ve notice if your computer is not configure properly, windows media player gives you very hard time syncing devices. You also, should check and see what version of windows media player you are using. 11 will sync properly with most devices.

Mp3 player

This player only works as the manual suggests if you use Windows Media Player 10. It is not compatible with iTunes. If you have Windows Media Player 11, there are detailed instructions on how to get it working right on GPX's website.

If you are using Windows Vista with Windows Media Player 11, you will need to follow these instructions.
Note: You will be able to download purchased/subscribed songs to the unit - not from iTunes

1. Start Windows Media Player 11 and then connect your unit to your computer. If you have not set up synchronization between your computer and this device, the Device Setup Wizard starts.
2. In Device Setup - Configure Sync, write a name for your mp3 player.
3. Click Finish. The window closes and the Sync feature in the Player is displayed.
4. From the left pane of this Sync feature, you can select from Playlists or Library and you will see the content of these folders in the center pane.
5. Select the songs or entire albums from the center pane.
6. Drag these songs or albums into the Sync List, which is the right pane of the Sync feature.
7. Click the Start Sync button on the Sync List pane.
8. Repeat steps 4-7 for any other items that you want to copy to your unit.

Help with syncing music to my comp frm my mp3

Generally, you can move music from Windows Media Player to yur mp3 player, but not the other way around. Press the sync button, and set up a sync profile for your mp3 player - then it should recognize the songs that are on there. If that fails, I would reformat the player inside of Windows Media Player to see if that helps any.

Have fun!
