Blue edge from top to bottom

I hate to tell you this but what is called a filter 'Analyzer or Polarizer that is positioned before the Blue's LCD panel is going bad or has a great amount of dust build up on it.
A Good TV Service with experience on these types of LCD TV's should be able to tell you what the cost of repair is.

You will need to replace your two convergence I.C.s.They are two large IC mounted on a large aluminum heat sink.Replace both,look for any burned resistors near them,replace those if needed,and readjust your convergence. Good Luck

A line from top to bottom or side to side is a dead or failed pixel sensor. There are hundreds of pixel sensors at the edges of the screen, when one fails it causes a line, the line can be red, blue, white, or black. Unfortunately, there is no way of repairing the line, other that replacing the screen.

Steps 1 - Remove the battery

• Slide and hold the battery release latch to the release position.
• Lift the front edge of the battery and remove it from the battery bay.

Step 2 - Remove the optical drive

• Remove the 7 mm P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the optical drive to the bottom of the notebook.
• Use your finger to grasp the edge of the optical drive bezel and slide the optical drive out of the base enclosure.

Step 3 - Replace the optical drive

• Insert the optical drive into the base enclosure until the connector is seated.
• Replace the 7 mm P1 Phillips-head screw that secures the optical drive to the bottom of the notebook.

Step 4 - Replace the battery

• Toe the rear edge of the battery into the base enclosure.
• Lower the front edge of the battery and press the battery into the battery bay until the release latch clicks.

Dave,,yes the tv is worth fixing the ic part you need is STK 392-010 and at this site i will give the link to they are 19.99 each you will need 2 if you get them at the link I posted you will also get free online tech support plus installation instructions with pictures

I hope they are not your only repair shop around ,if i where you i would call another repair shop ,that is way to high for repair cost if they are only changing out (2) STK-392-110s, cost 90.00 also if they happen to be STK 392-560s the price of those are only10.00 differents also price of resistors at most 4.95- how much is bench labor?550.00 dollars wow!!!!! I think you were trying to say convergence chips if im right all the above is true. let me know if this is what they are telling you.I do this same job at my shop cost (2) stks 110.00 plus tax 8.80 plus labor if i do not run into hard time to realine 225.00 total cost 343.80

Not to me, but it also depends on if you could do this yourself or not. And the area you are in sometimes is responsible for the cost being high.
