Siemens HF87950 Internal Bulb replacement

How do you replace the internal bulb in the Siemens HF87950 microwave oven. I've had the glass guidevane cover off but no sign of a light/bulb.

My Siemens HF87950GB inner glass panel broke during cooking, do I need to replace the whole microwave oven or just the glass or the door? where I should I go to get a replacement? Thank you!

This is a problem that at least a few others have experienced with your microwave and may be the subject of a recall although I could find nothing on their website.
I would definitely go to Siemens first as this definitely sounds like a manufacturers defect. Even if they have not publicly stated this in a recall, they likely know it is happening and may fix it (even out of warranty) if you push. may be interested... I would talk to them if you don't get any satisfaction from Siemens.
Otherwise, the glass should be standard tempered glass that a local glass shop can get if you bring the door to them, or just a sample of the broken glass (for thickness) along with the internal dimensions of the glass.
Make sure that the metal mesh/screen remains in place and is not damaged, as this is what prevents the microwaves from escaping the cooking chamber.

How do you replace the internal bulb in the Siemens HF87950?

If there's no obvious removable cover over the bulb (most often on the rear or side) and the owner's manual doesn't address it, then disassembly will be required.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

Always unplug a microwave before removing or installing any bulbs.

If it's an over the range type, remove the vent grille across the top and see if bulbs can be accessed there. There may be a panel on the bottom covering the light(s), instead.

If not, chances are you'll have to remove it from the wall, then remove the outer cover. If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

Once it's out of the wall, the outer cover (wrapper) will need to be removed, just as you'll need to do on a counter top model.

On a counter top model, be sure it's unplugged, but otherwise ignore the instructions above this paragraph.

You'll need to remove the outer cover (wrapper) to get to the bulb.

See these links before proceeding:

The screws you need to remove should be pretty obvious, but a special driver (such as a T20H type or GTXH20-100) may be needed.

Be sure to put all the screws back in the right holes, since some may be special grounding screws.

Bulbs can be had locally in most grocery stores, hardware stores, home improvement centers, and big box or department stores.

Many models use halogen lamps. You must not touch the new one with your bare skin, as the oils will shorten the bulb life.

Kenmore 363.6367 internal light doesn't go on

I had the same problem! I was soooo frustrated! But, when my brother came to town, he took off the grill on the top of the micro hood, took out a few more screws, a plastic screen, another screw in the metal cover for the light and then reached in with his fingers to pull out the light bulb, we replaced it, then re-assembled it. It did take us about 30 minutes to do the job and you will need a phillips screwdriver, and a phillips screwdriver drill bit thing, but we were able to do it. I love having the light in the microhood again.
