Question about Kenmore 24032\24036 Top Load Washer

1 Answer

Continuation of problem

Sir: I posted a further information attachement that appears under my original post as a "guest". Does this offer more any clues? I looked at baskets in the parts section but they do no seem to include the collar. I could not find it separately either. If you think this is the problem-not the water do you know the part number?

Model # 11092597200 Kenmore top load washer.

Spin cycle cuts out due to imbalance. Coupler went out while I was gone and replaced by brother. When repaced this imbalance was noticed. I recently came home and found the 3 pads destroyed as well. I replaced these and the 4 springs. Imbalance persisted. I purchased a spanner and took off the inner tub looking for the counter balance ring per your suggestion but couldn't find it. Shaft without inner tub spins true. Metal tub has a molded hollow plastic top half filled with water. Could this be the cuprit?

  • gthomasbliss Dec 29, 2008

So what do I do; open the plastic screw and put in more water? Open the plastic screw and take out the water? Buy a new inner tub? Plastic top is molded onto metal inner tub so I cannot just replace plastic top(baance ring), but the rest are possible!

    Thank-you kindly for your help!

when I replaced the tub the original filter did not fit because of the 4 crescent shaped cuts on the bottom of the tub. I ordered a new filter but thes are 4 black plastic discs that fit into nothing on this tub. Where can I find the proper filter for the bottom of this tub?

Model # 11092597200 Kenmore top load washer.
tub center cylinder out of round. New tub does not have integral base screen attached. I ordered replacement but was sent circular discs-4. The directions said they attach into holes at the bottom of the tub. No holes are at the bottom of this tub. There are attachment holes on the cylinder of this tub for the no longer made base of tub filter. What can I do? Is there a place to buy this base filter used?

Washing machine power cut off mid cycle

Hi just read your posting. On the information in your posting I gather that your machine will not power up.Is this the correct assumption? If I am correct then there are 2 reasons why your machine could be faulty. The 1st is your motor controller is faulty or your pump is open circuit. Please look under the machine for me and to the front right you should see your pump which has either a black or red fan attached to it.Please verify if you have this style of pump.Looking forward to your reply with the additional information.

I've just changed the bearings and seal, now it

Hi just read your posting. Now did you check all the wires were put back in the original places that they came from when you removed them from the motor ,pump, and rotor position sensor? When the machine stops filling do you get a beep from the machine and a series of lights turn on indicating a fault code?.If you do which lights are lit when it beeps? With the information on your posting the fault sounds like your out of balance switch is faulty or your rotor sensor is faulty. Was the machine leaking water and was the bearing rusted before you changed the bearings and seal? Please reply with additional information on the questions and I am sure I can help you further.

My machine leaks. The leak is from the top of the tub where the water shoots in. What do I do?

Hi just read your posting. Now you need to remove the 2 screws under the lid ,they are under 2 plastic covers,1 on the left and 1 on the right.Once the screws are undone lift the front of the hob up so you can see the water outlet assembly.Does anything appear to be loose or broken? Please reply with additional information so I can help you further.

My fav6800aww stins out of balance frequently. It's happening on every load. Used to be once in a while. I believe the display reads dc.

Hi eric656
Thankyou for the model nmber....most folks don't bother, I'm going to stop offering help to those post.

Common failure for this machine caused by a Clutch malfunction 99.99998 times of 10. See this post Clutch repair post for the DIY fix. I’m an owner of the FAV6800A machine. I buy them on ebay for pennies on the dollar maintenance the clutch and they are back in service. I suggest diving in and do the repair yourself and save $300 plus to repair. I will help you all the way and offer phone support if necessary, my support is free. What is the first two digits of your serial number of your machine. From the front of the machine the s/n tag is on the right rear console. Could be 10,12, 15,15,17…etc. That will give me a feel if your Clutch assembly uses the Upper One-Way roller clutch ring.

At the post I link you to you can pull the Service Manual a must for DIY'ers.

Check out my profile and rating under my original profile name dh1200s and FAV6800AWDIY. Changed the profile name in regard to support I can offer. Don’t toss the machine like this my most recent ebay win…… Rich

It's now my primry machine was failing with dC/uC unbalance errors. A 10 minute fix for me, One-Way roller clutch clean up and re-lube.

WASHING MACHINE IT CONTINUES TO FILL WITH WATER AND OVER FLOWES DOES NOT GO THROUGH AGITATION CYCLE

If the machine is not recognizing the water level, and continues to fill...the pressure switch is most likely bad

With a model #, we can be more exact and point you toward a replacement part.

Thanks for using FixYa - a 4 THUMBS rating is appreciated for answering your FREE question.

Bosch brushes continued

Actually with bosch I believe its a star screw. remove those then they should just pop out. If you can't do it you may want to consider bringing in a professional as it shouldn't be too difficult. If you have a moment to rate your original post. Also midwest tech also has posted on your original post and you may find helpful. If you find my solution helpful and you have a moment I would greatly appreciate if you could accept and rate my solution on our original post.

Kenmore HE2 Washing Machine Leaking

Have you looked behind the bellow under the folds to make sure there's no rips or tears? The bellow could appear okay on the outside, but still could have a tear somewhere out of plain view. I had this happen to me before.

The inner seal from the bellow to the tub could also be loose now. If you said a garment got stuck and the washer continued through the cycle, this could have loosen the seal where it attaches to the wash tub. You would need to tighten the band clamp around the facing of the tub if this is the case.

A good way in determining where the leak may be coming from is to remove the lower panel under the door. Start a wash cycle and watch to see where the water is coming out.

Now...if the tub seal is loose it may require some disassembly to get to. If you're going to go the route of disassembling the washer front, and have never replaced the bellow before, it probably wouldn't hurt to replace it anyway. My rationale: It's better to disassemble the washer once, rather than possibly having to do it all over again in the near future.

You can get a replacement bellow at searspartsdirect.com. Just type in your model number and look under the "Door and Latch Parts" section for item number 1 (part #8540952). It only costs about $32.

If you need instructions on how to replace the bellow, just go to my profile and look under my "Tips and Tricks". There is a write I posted there giving step-by-step instructions. If you cannot find it, or have any further questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this helps answer some of your questions.

The problem is usually associated to a defective pressure switch. Your pressure switch is located under the operator console and is a round, cookie-shaped device with an air hose and some electrical connecters (usually behind the water level or load level knob). If you can gain access behind the console, the first thing to look for is the clear plastic air hose. This hose should be connected to the switch. Sometimes the hose becomes loose and falls off. Often reattaching the hose will correct your problem. If the hose IS attached, you may have either, a hole in the hose somewhere, a dirty electrical connection somewhere, or your pressure switch is bad. Double check and make sure the pressure hose switch is intact and let me know. If you suspect you need to replace the pressure switch, you can find the part online at searsdirect.com or repairclinic.com (I'm sure there are other websites available, but these are one's I have frequently used). Just type in your COMPLETE model number in the Search menu and you will find a part listing with prices. If you need further assistance, please post back with your comments/concerns. I hope this helps you.
