After my husband changed the dryer hose he wanted to make sure it was going to stay attached so I started the dryer up and then when I opened the door to stop it sparks flew out of the back and now it will not start up, but does get very hot when plugged in. Any help before I call a repairman?

No. This is something that can't be fixed over the internet. Call the repairman.

SOURCE: My Dryer will only work if I hold start button, when I release start button the dryer stops.

Anra, this is a classic symptom of a failed even heat board. I've seen a lot of these failures out there. Easy to change out. Check out this link. Catriver..post back http://www.repairclinic.com/0080.asp

SOURCE: Clothes Dryer will not stop or be quiet

On some Kenmore which is made by whirlpool, there is a resistor connected to the timer control. when the machine is off can you listen to the timer switch and hear it running, making a clock ticking sound? If so, you need a new resistor. Being a dryer, when you open the door and it stops the button needs to be reset before it starts again, right? So I wouldnt be looking at the door switch as much as the start button. It may be the evil one.

SOURCE: Sears Kenmore 80 Series Electric Dryer - starts, kicks off in 5 min

sound like a motor problem it does not have a resetable limit if it was over heating then it would blow the limit and it would not heat, or the blower limit if it sences overheating would not allow the machine to run at all
get ready for a new motor, or a new dryer
200 plus to replace the motor

Maytag microwave model mmv1153baw light won't shut off and won't start

Hi,

Either the latch in door (spring related) is not in the correct location or you have a door switch issue and its not expensive to fix if you husband is handy. Part number you can use is 28QBP0495 or the factory one 3405-001034 (more expensive). This issue is common and these switches are located inside the control panel on the left side, the switch you seek is the lowest one in the bracket of three. Good Luck and I hope this helps.

Fire sensor replaced and now the dryer will not turn on

What is the model number of your unit?
Do you mean he replaced the "flame sensor"?
Have him check to see that the wires to the door switch are attached. This will prevent the dryer from starting.

New baracuda automatic pool cleaner.

If these pool cleaners are staying on one side of the pool, there are several things that you will want to check. First, check the return line water flow and redirect it if necessary with an eyeball diverter. Make sure that your new hose has proper balance. You might have to apply hose weights to achieve balance. Also, make sure that the new hose is long enough to reach all corners of the pool.

No heat in 2000 chevy lazer just replaced thermostat

I own a 200 Chevrolet Blazer and I have it for over 4 years mine does the same thing I actually just noticed my heat getting less. My husband found the best way to fix it and the cheapest way to fix it. He takes the tube off the heater and attaches a water hose to it and flushes out the gunk whatever is blocking the hose and after he does that the heat works great. No cost and if I wanted to I could do it because its so easy. My husband did some searching on the internet and a person that this happens all the time to let me husband know. If you need more info let me know I can ask my husband he isn't home at the moment I so I don't have exact details. Thanks Amy

Dryer will not start.

Check your door switch. It sounds like the door switch is not engaging (closing properly). If the switch contacts stay open, the interior light stays on the dryer will beep when you attempt to start it. This is the push button toggle switch on the door frame. This is a common symptom of this problem.

Open the door and push in on the switch, If the switch is working properly, the light will go out. If it doesn't, you will need to make sure the switch is not loose. Next, check the wires leading to the switch to make sure they are not loose, broken or grounded to the case anywhere. If all the wiring checks good, you will need to replace the switch. This is a very simple repair. Let me know if you require further assistance. I hope this helps you.

Refrigerator

use a hair dryer to heat the gasket up and gently pull all the bends and wrinkles outs. this takes a tremindous amount of patients even with us techs, so work slowly. once you have that done and the gasket shift to form the door seal put a light coat of vasaline all the way aroung the gasket then push the door shut making sure you gasket is touching the door seal all the way around it mat take going over it again with the hair dryer with the door closed to get it to form correctly, once formed don't open the door for a min. of 4 to 8hrs if it can be avoided and after that make sure you close the door and it seals for the next week to 2 weeks which is about the time it take for it to cure properly
