hi wendy.
not sure if this is what you are after its all i could find,if this does not help you then go to the link at the bottom. What to do when your phone says not registered on network?Make sure you are connected to a Wireless connection:
First Get Your Galaxy up and running, charged and ready.
Is the handset you are trying to register de-registered? if not it will not register to another base until it is.first de-registered.
To de-register the handset do the following- With a charged battery in the handsetEnter *331734# then without pause Press and Release theMenu Select Button. You will hear a Beep. Handset would then be De-registered..
Then place the handset on the Main Base cradle and follow the instruction that come up on the handset display.if the handset still does not register then most likely the base memory is full and will have to be re-set .
To re-reset the Base:- Remove any handset from the main base cradle. Then Press and Hold the Locator or find HS or handset Locator button until the IN USE light comes on and begin to flash then release it and immediately with out pause press and release it again. That will re-set the base memory. All your handset will then be de-registered and will to be re-registered. Place each handset to be re-registered on the Main Base cradle and follow the instructions on the the handset display and they will register.
If your Garmin is registered at www.Garmin.com, go to the website and click on "View Your Registered Products".
That will take you to a page where you can "manage" your registered products including downloading of maps and updating software.
If you're NOT registered, do it now and you'll be ready to start hunting for new maps etc based on the model number of your unit.
If you bought your unit second hand and the previous owner had already registered it, be advised that you will have to have them UNregister it before YOU can register. (Makes sense, right?)
I'm only guessing, but this may be worth a try. Go to the Garmin website, www.garmin.com, click on the tab "myGarmin". Log in (which you would have done when you registered your new GPS when you bought it). Then click on "View your registered products".
If your 660 is listed there, (its model number would appear in blue type, under the heading Product Name.....and the serial number would be listed to the right) the unit MUST be registered to you or you probably wouldn't even get this far on the website.
If your unit ISN'T listed there, you may see a drop-down window where you can select "Register Now". (I say all this somewhat tentatively, because MY unit IS registered: it was initially registered by its previous owner who had to UNregister before I could go in an register it in MY name.)
Perhaps the store where you bought the unit registered it in YOUR name, but maybe they spelled it differently (like, Mike, instead of Michael). OR, maybe you never registered it when you made your purchase. If not, go ahead and do it now; it's easy!
The "END" and "#" key combination can be used for several purposes:
1) If wanting to use an ALREADY REGISTERED HANDSET on an alternate base, and if if the INITIAL BASE isn't available to deregister the handset:
1a) Press "END" + "#" until it for 5+ seconds (wait for it to beep)
1b) Choose the "Base Unavailable" option
1c) That'll deregister the CURRENT HANDSET so that it can be re-registered on ANY base.
2) If a BASE has a handset registered to it which you no longer want registered but the registered handset is missing or broken:
2a) Grab another WORKING handset which is properly REGISTERED to the BASE in question
2b) Press and hold the "END" + "#" key for 5+ seconds (wait for it to beep)
2c) Choose the "Deregister HS" menu option
2d) Pick the REGISTERED HANDSET # to de-register. (Every other registered handset EXCEPT THE ONE YOU'RE ON will appear in the list!)
This problem is due to the mix of registered and unregistered DIMMs.
64Mb and 128 Mb DIMM's are unregistered memory technology 256MB is
registered memory technology. A mix of registered and unregistered
memory prevents the server from completing startup, and results in an
error beep sequence and a blank screen..Use registered memory and it will be fine..
