Question about NCR 7875

Setting Scanner and scale back to default settings

I just came across four NCR7875 scanner\scale combos. I need to be able to set back to default settings. Any way to get this information without paying through the nose with NCR?? Programming manual would be nice.

After scanning a bar code I need it to enter and go to next row in excel

Hi,

This can be possible, therefore it is not an Excel setting. You would need
to use the software that comes with your bar-code reader to configure this.

Try looking in your bar-code reader documentation for "Append Enter" or
"Append Carriage Return"

You can try slowing down the output of the scanner. Most barcode scanners have a setting called "inter-character delay". This setting puts a very small amount of time in between the transmission of characters from the scanner to the host PC. See if you can find setting like that in the users guide for the scanner. I did a quick search for the users guide to see what they might call this setting but was unable to find the users guide. I'm pretty sure this scanner has been retired for quite a while now. Probably since PSC was purchased by Datalogic. You may have purchased it new, but most likely it's been sitting around for awhile. If you do find that setting and it doesn't help, see if the scanner supports a USB connection. If it does you'd need to buy a USB cable for the scanner and replace the PS2 cable you have with the USB cable. It could be the adaptor you purchased is causing the problem. If all else fails call Datalogic support. Their website is listed below. Source(s): http://www.scanning.datalogic.com/

I'm using Symbol LS1004 with SirsiDynix Symphony 3.3.1 Workflows. How can I tab over after each scan, without having to hit <Enter>? Thanks, -john

Here is what I did to fix the problem of the bar-code scanner not going to next line after a successful scan. (Symbol ls4000i,This fix should work for other models as well)

1. Get the manual for your scanner or here is a link to the Symbol LS400i
https://docs.symbol.com/manuals/3789802a.pdf
You will want to print off few pages that have the proper bar-codes for programming.

2. I usually start with setting scanner to the Default Parameter, this should be in section 5-7,page 50 of the manual.PRINT IT
Warning! If you set scanner to default, you need to be aware of which bar-code types you use. (We use UPC-A) Also if you have it programed for other things already you may not want to set all settings to default. You can skip to step 4. If you do not wish to reset all values to default.

Now scan the Default bar-code.

3. Now program scanner to Enable your bar-code type. (For us Enable UPC-A bar-code is in section 5-22,page 66. PRINT IT

Now Scan the Enable (your bar-code type UPC-A, UPC-E,etc etc)

4.Next You need to set a Suffix Value. The scan Suffix bar-code is found in section 5-80, page 124. PRINT IT

Now Scan the Scan Suffix bar-code

This prepares the scanner for the code of the whatever Suffix you want to add.

5. The Suffix you want to add to fix this particular problem is ENTER. So that it goes to the next line. There is a prefix/suffix value chart on page 162 table A-4. The code for ENTER Is 7013. In order to enter this code you will need to print off the Numeric Bar Codes found in section 5-109,5-110,pages 153,154. PRINT IT

Now scan in 7013 one number at a time to program ENTER as the suffix.

6.Now you have to program the Scan Data Transmission Format found in section 5-81,5-82, pages 125,126 . PRINT IT
(This lets the scanner know to transmit the Suffix after the data.)

First scan the Scan Options Bar-code.
Second scan the <DATA><SUFFIX> bar-code.

Last scan the ENTER Bar-Code.

YOUR DONE !

Your scanner should be working now. Also look through the manual there are some nice functions that can be turned on and off with a simple bar code scan. Such as volume and tone of beep etc etc.

Hope this helps

Mc9060 no sound: in setting i set it to the high volume setting - enter - then check it is back to the lowest setting- not holding change in settings

you need to connect the handheld to your PC and then use software to change settings for the device. There is no other way for the settings to persist a cold boot.

No green ready light

There are two different type of port usually experience this particular problem.

1) If you use the scanner to com1 computer port
2) If you use the scanner to com1 cash register

The only way to settle the situation is to use the manual barcode scanner default settings.

1) Setting up default for com1 scanner
2) Setting up default for com1 cash register.

If you barcode still experience the problem you need to contact the manufacturer on that model or the reseller where you bought the said device.

Probably, the device being situated in critical effects that your scanner would not able to determine where it will send the data from your barcode scanner.

Please rate me solved if you like my suggestions.

Best regards,

Philip
