Question about Car Audio & Video

What causes disc format error ?

The unit will randomly cycle the insert/eject mechanism for no reason.

also will not play a disc, it will only pull the disc in, then immediately eject it without trying to play it.

what can be done to fix ? or "Reset" the unit ?
(2006 yukon denali xl - factory system)

This is caused by copied discs, scratches on discs, dirty discs, or dirty optics inside the unit. Go to Walmart or a good audio shop and buy a CD optic cleaning disc. It has little brushes which clean dust off the laser lens.

SOURCE: MECHANICAL DISC ERROR

There should be an emergency eject button, look in your instructions that came with it to locate it. Also check you book for the suitable DVD's for your machine. Or go to the panasonic web site

Can the radio on a Golf 5 be set to play MP3 CD's?

If the radio was not originally built to play MP3 format, then no. Unless the manufacturer has an update for the player's software/firmware (which I doubt they bother with) it will be impossible.

My cd won't play. It just ejects and has an err code.

If youre getting an error code and All cd's are being ejected than your CD mechanism " loader" is bad. You can contact United Radio in Syracuse, NY if you think its worth fixing, if its only certsin discs and Radio plays radio stations ok then it may be CDs that are not in MP3 format which will not play in your radio. Let me know. Lex.. 11_2_2013_3_15_32_pm.jpg

My disks are not playing. It states. An error has occurred. Press the eject button and remove the disc, then turn the wii off and refer to the operations manual. I have tried everything

i am having this same problem.... found this bit of info, hope it helps.

The most common reason for the Wii not reading discs is a bad drive. The following website sells the drives and does installs:

store.richspsxparts.com/wiiredvddr

This drive should fix any reading issues you are having with your games, or issues inserting your games or ejecting them (or lack thereof). This is the entire DVD drive assembly mechanism replacement for your Wii including a new laser. If your discs are not ejecting, or you cannot insert a disc -- or you can insert a disc but it will not load, this is what you need to get your Wii going again!

TEAC-P1260 - Initially Cd would play then eject randomly. Next would play only a few seconds then eject. Now has eaten a disc and will not eject. Any suggestions?

First you do is to unplug the cord of your CD unit for 5 hours in order to drain the stored current, the purpose is to reset the unit. After the 5 hours plug the CD see to it if it open If not, just try to press down on the stop button and pressing eject button at same time and it will unlock the tray .Then the other option is to open the cover of the CD unit and unplug the unit again to avoid electricalshock . When open already look for the disc platter moved it outward while driving the gear or simply push out. The drawer or door of the CD player and you will see a small circular disc which is often called turntable or disc platter. When the disc platter is out push it back and push it out you do this three times so the slider mechanism align it properly. If you do already what i said then plug it again and if works already closed the cover. The slider mechanism, depending on the age of the unit and the manufacturer, consists of the small chrome rail, a drive motor, a small gear assembly, and (in some units) a small belt that drives the slider unit via the motor. This small belt causes all sorts of problems. If the belt is broken or slipping, it can cause skipping, dropouts, or simply no start up at all. Also, if the belt breaks in the middle of the disc, the drive mechanism gets hair or dirt wrapped up into the gears, or the pick-up assembly doesn?t return to the start position (called home), the unit will (99% of the time) refuse to release the disc, causing it to become stuck inside the unit. There?s a little micro or leaf type switch located at home position that sometimes gets dirty or breaks and, causing this problem also. Hope it may help you; Regards; VOTIT

Disc Eject won't work after improperly inserting disc and since removing it.

I have an DZ-MV780 with the same problem. I found that the cover plate around the flash hot shoe only has a single screw. If you remove it and pull up the cover you gain access to the gear and lock mechanism. Hit eject and if necessary press on the white gears you see in front of the zoom switch. It should then cause the door mechanism to unlock and open.

Cd ejects

New CDs may have some rough spots around the inner and outer edges. If such a CD is used, this unit may reject the CD. To remove these rough spots, rub the edges with a pencil or ball-point pen, etc.
