Roxio 9, Roxio Creator 9 and Roxio Creator 10 are different animals. Roxio 9 is 3 years old +. It likely will not handle 64bit or Windows 7.
Roxio Creater 9 is not listed as compatible with Windows 7

1. you have error in windows.
2.download and install nero 9.
3.real player also born dvd and cd bu i recommend nero 9.

Unistall the software and reinstall it agian. and also download the software ccleaner which will delete all the unwanted files from your system. and also run msconfog command from run and uncheck all the startup items

Previous versions of Roxio or Sonic branded software that are not listed below as Vista compatible may run into compatibility issues. The following Roxio applications that work with Windows Vista are:

Easy Media Creator 9 and above
WinOnCD 9 and above
Easy CD & DVD Burning ("Vista Compatible" labeled boxes only) 
RecordNow 9 and above
MyDVD 9 and above

It may be a problem with your drivers for your DVD player not the software to interface with the DVD. You need to look in the device manager and check if there are any problems with the hardware. If there are it will involve updating or reinstalling the drivers for the dvd player.

During the installation of DirectX 9 portions of Creator 2009, the installation halts, it perhaps tries to roll back, gives an error....wizard was interrupted ... and cannot be completed.

Resolution
Open My Computer (or Computer for Vista users) from your Start menu.

Go to C: drive -> Windows folder -> System32 folder.

Look for a file called dsetup.dll in the System32 folder.

Rename the file to "dsetupOLD.dll" or delete the file.

Reinstall Creator 2009 and follow the on-screen instructions.

I don't think version 6 is going to work in Vista.
