I have O'Keefe and Merritt stove with attached microwave labeled Tappan FCC ID ABM964To3. The "start" button on the microwave quit working. Can I get this repaired?

I had very old parts for the tappan units but they have been out of circulation for quite some time. Unless this is a new tappan that I am not familar with, Most of those parts are no longer available. The FCC ID does not help, you need a model number of the unit to try to look up parts. A Microwave puts out radio waves and such has to be regulated by the FCC. Federal Comunications Commission. That number wont help find parts for the unit. Sorry

Can anyone please help me find a workshop manual?

Hi, Rob the vast majority of service, parts, and owners manuals on the internet are "FREE" to download and all service manuals contain wiring diagrams in the back pages. The rest usually charge a modest fee around $10 and there is a handful of obscure, rare, obsolete, and very old models that are no longer or never were available, for these rare occasions I shall look on eBay and find the cheapest one available. Most of the manuals will cover your exact make, model, and year otherwise one will be provided that comes as close as possible to your bike and will have most of the same info that an exact manual would have. To download your manual please click on the blue links below. Good luck and have a wonderful day Suzuki JR50 and Kawasaki KDX50 Service Manual Cyclepedia

Pass lock system, saturn l 300, 2004

The passlock system is a known problem for GM's vehicles. It has been immobilizing cars since the mid 80's. GM accepts no responsibility for the problem and instead charges you up to a thousand bucks to fix it. I've had great luck by just bypassing the entire system. Once you've done this, you will never have to worry about this failed system again. Copy and paste this link into your browser. This site explains the problem, shows pictures of the failing parts, along with ways to beat this problem forever at a far cheaper cost than a dealer. Why replace a failed system with more failing parts? I've personally done these bypasses dozens of times. If its on this site, it WILL work.

Stuck in reverse too!

There are some 3rd party vendors offering parts -

I would recommend taking it back to your local authorized Husqvarna Viking dealer and have them send it to Husqvarna Viking (SVP) Technical Service Dept in Tennessee for repair. They may be able to rebuild the part or get one off an old machine being used for parts. A list of AUTHORIZED Husqvarna Viking dealers is available at the Husqvarna Viking website -

Good luck.

Looking to find out how old a hobart dishwasher model# wm-es-2 is

Hi Bobbertb

Let me see if I can help you. If the unit have a hot water booster behind the bottom panel, and it is located on the left and oval shape; well that's old. most parts are no longer available. If the booster tank is on the right side and somewhat square looking, then there is a chance.

Normally the model and serial number are stamped on a piece of metal, riveted on the upper section of the door.
More, models like wm5h or sr24 were very popular and most parts are still available.

I suggest you search the internet for those models, see if they match what you have.

Problems with Dura Spark ignition system on a 2.8L V6 engine, '76 - '78 Mustang/Capri

Very small help:
> ,(& what is a “ballast” resistor? Is it different from a regular resistor?).

Ballast resistors are special; they have what is known as a 'positive temperature coefficient' meaning that they increase in resistance with temperature.
This provides a very hot spark to start, then a reduction in current as the resistor warms up.
This prevented points and coils from frying from unnecessarily high current.
Early electronic ignition systems still used them, I don't think any modern car has them now.

If you have a larger public library, it might be worth a look on line (if available) or a visit to search for a manual; have found some classics there.
If you find it there - copy it, then RETURN IT! :-)

Yamaha RX-500 (old n b0ld)

The system is most likely in "protect" mode. This means that a problem was detected and the output section has been disabled to prevent further damage. The most common failure is of the output transistors. Figure about $15-$30 in parts plus the local labor rate for a repair.
