How do i find out if my laptop is touchscreen compatible

You need the model number - the COMPLETE model number. Be advised though, that there is no such thing as a "touchscreen compatible" or "touchscreen ready" laptop. That would assume that the touchscreen hardware is already there and all you need is the firmware or software to make it work. Not gonna happen. Touchscreens are much more expensive that regular ones and manufacturers are not going to put them on and not activate them. Either you got one or you don't. Dell, for example, makes some models both with and without touchscreen. The only difference is one letter in the model number.

No. The power button is the only way to turn it on if it is completely in shut down mode.

Touchscreen windows xp pro

On the Panasonic Toughbook CF29,
the Touchscreen is the same as the "Mouse".

So you have to load the Touchpad/Touchscreen
Driver, not just the Touchscreen driver by itself.

The driver for the CF29 MK2 is located at this link:

Touchscreen loses calibration

If your Toughbook has an integrated GPS, this may be conflicting with the touchpad or touchscreen driver. You can fix this by running the GPS Registry Patch - SKIPENUM.REG, which is found in the C:\UTIL\GPS\ folder. This file can also be found at the Download Center.

If you are using a GPS module that is not integrated, you should contact the manufacturer of the GPS module for a similar patch.

If you are not using a GPS module, or if the above steps do not fix your problem, re-install the touchpad and/or touchscreen drivers.

I have an hp tx1000 and my touch screen is not responding at all

Hmmm... touchscreens can be complicated in ruling out what is excatly causing the root of the malfunction. First check to see if you turned the touchscreen option off. There could be a FN button that disable the touch screen and maybe you accidently disable it. I used to have a tx1000 too, but sold it because of the common heating promblem of these machines that cause future malfuctions, only if I sitll have it, I'd be more clear about it. However if that doesn't work, then it could be a driver promblem. Did you change the operation system?, deleted programs associate to the touchscreen? or updated a newer version of the drivers? If this is it, then common promblem could be associated with the drivers of the touchscreen, you will have to reload the driver agian, and can be found in the Hp drivers support section. Other then that, if promblem has not been fixed, then a cablewiring in the laptop somewhere that connected with your screen has become discconnected and loose, because surely those hp tx does do so twisting and turnings which your going to have to take the laptop apart.
