Error code 6000

I tried to print something on my printer today...it said there was a paper jam... I throughly checked it out and there was no paper jam. It is now giving me error code 6000 and the Alarm light flashes. Any ideas on how to fix? I've tried turning off and back on as well as unplugging. i went to turn my computer on today and when it finally warmed up i heard a loud grinding sound and then the Error code 6000 appeared. and there is no paper in there yet to jam.

SOURCE: Error code 6000

I had same trouble with pixma MP110. Did everything but no luck. Noticed the paper feed tray was off centre...turned it all upside down and a drawing pin fell out. it was jammed behind thepaper feed and unit itself. All works well now. So, check something has not dropped into the paper area!!!

SOURCE: Error code 6000

I have been driving myself crazy with this same problem MP470 Error 6000 to no avail cleaned the machine to the extreme...no paper inside. Followed solution #9 but still in error. Used these reset instructions and now feel like the smartest person on earth. With the power off, press the reset button (red) and hold while pressing the green power button. Release the red reset but continue to hold the green power button. While still holding the green power button, press the red reset button twice and then release both green and red together. Now press the red reset 4times. Power off and you should clear the blinking orange. Hope this helps someone else. Now I need to go clean this ink off my fingers!!!

Error code 6000

Error 6000 is a line feed error, it means the platen roller isn't advancing properly. It usually means something has fallen in from the back where the paper goes and is stopping the rollers from turning.
Check the printer for any paper jam or try to reset the printer to release memory code errors.

1. Press and hold the Resume button for 1 - 2 minutes.
2. Open the cover.
3. Remove the cartridge and then reinstall it.
4. Close the cover.
5. Turn Off the printer.
6. Turn On the printer.

Printer error has occurred 6000

Error 6000 gets displayed when there is a paper jam or other general malfunction. When the message "6000 Printer error has occurred. Turn off the printer then back on again. If the problem persists, see the manual." Is displayed, something may block the paper feed tray from opening.
If the printer is surrounded with documents or when you copy large documents such as books, make sure that you secure the clear space in front of the tray before printing / copying. When the error message above is displayed and if you find something is in front of the tray, remove it. Then, turn OFF the printer and back ON again and the printer will be ready for printing.
If you still have the trouble, contact the repair service.

I keep getting error 6000 when I am trying to print how do I rectify this

Hi there

I think THE 6000 is the same problem error as the ERROR 6A00
This answers with a titch more detail.
The 6A00 is a Canon generic code for paper path jam.

Some where in the paper path a sensor is activated indicating paper jam so the printer will give off a 6A00 code.
As a Canon tech, I usually find the code, almost 90% of the time, is related to the purge unit being jammed with something and not being able to move.
Moving the print head assembly will not clear a purge unit if its jammed with paper, paper clips, push pins, screws, cookie crisp, flower bud pods or the like.

And yes I have found all those things in a purge unit.
The offending item needs to be removed or the purge unit needs replacement.
Incidentally, the 6A00 error pertains to all Canon printers made in the last several years, its not just used in one model.

And it’s always a paper path error or purge unit.

The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Also clean the purge unit out make sure all is clean.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.
