I am sending you all the possibilities for your problem, check either of these causes ----and than let me know if it is solved----

Power from the house
Check to see whether there's power getting to the dryer. Is it plugged in? Check for blown fuses or tripped circuit breakers--your dryer uses two fuses or circuit breakers. The dryer could tumble but not heat if only one of the two fuses is blown. If you have circuit breakers, one of the two circuit breakers can trip, even if the two for the dryer are connected.

Heating element
Often a dryer heating element burns out, but doesn't trip the circuit breaker or blow a fuse. The heating element is simply a long coil of special wire. You can check it for continuity with an ohm meter. No continuity means the element is bad and you need to replace it--electric heating elements aren't repairable.

Thermal fuse
On many dryers, there's a thermal fuse mounted to the exhaust duct inside the back cover panel. The fuse--which is about an inch long--is usually embedded in black resin and mounted in a white plastic housing. If the fuse has blown, you need to replace it. (You can't re-set it.)

Wiring
A common problem is for the main wiring connection from the house, at the dryer, to burn and break its connection. Because the dryer can still tumble with partial power, the connection may be only partially defective. You may need to replace both the power cord to the dryer and the terminal block inside the dryer that the wire is attached to.

Dryer will not heat

The problem with your dryer is bad coils on the gas valve. Replace the coils, Part number: AP2150379
and the dryer should be back to normal.
To get access to the coils you have to remove the front panel.

Good luck.

The Kenmore 110 87880800 gas dryers starts up, ignites the gas initially, then 15 min later the dryer stops heating but continues to turn the drum. If we let the dryer sit for 20 min and turn it back on,...

Hello,
Your dryer is heated by gas and what is happening is,when the coils that open the gas valve work when they are cool but once the dryer is running and the gas valve coils get warm they wont work, this is pretty typical of a bad gas valve coil.Replacing the coils will fix that.To replace the gas valve coils,UNPLUG THE DRYER, use a putty knife and place in the seam between the main front panel and the small lower front panel AT the corners and depress the clip that holds small panel to main panel. On the right side of the base frame behind the small panel is the burner asm. the coils are held to the gas valve by a bracket remove that bracket and replace the coils, they are black round shaped and one has 2 wires and one has 3 wires the plugs pull off and can be push onto the new coils with just a small amount of pressure.
The part # for the coils is 279834 They can be purchased at your local appliance parts store or online at;

Whirlpool ggw9868kq . Ducts are clean, airflow is good. Drum rotates. Dryer warms up then stop heating. Happens with both auto and timed cycles.

Kenmore dryer (64952) runs but no heat... Looked at heating coil and it looks good (no bends/break/scratches). Help!!!

Good day,
Looking might be deceptive. You'll need a VOM meter to be sure.
The resistance should be below 30 ohms on the heater.

The most common problem is the thermal fuse, which is located at the bottom center of the back. It looks like this.

34e7554.jpg
It should read zero ohms. If not replace.
As well there are about 3 thermal devices located in that back area, either round or square shaped. Test all of them. They should read zero ohms as well.

My dryer runs great but doesnt pump heat. what can I do to fix it?

first unplug the dryer, then take off the vent tube in the back, take the screws holding the back on take out then take the back off, there will be a oval shaped tube in the back with 2 wires going in the bottom and one or two thermostats on itundo the wires going into the bottom of the tube , there is a holding strip on the top with one screw take the screw out, then pull the tube out enough to work on it ,at the bottom there is another screw take it out , then pull the heating coil out inspect it there may be a break in the coil if so it won't heat up, if the coil is o.k. then check the thermostat, more than likely it is your heating coil, then reverse the procedure, i do hope that i was of some help, thank you.

Kenmore Elite dryer won't heat

if no heat at all unplug the dryer take off the vent take out the screws holding the back on there is a long oval shaped tube with two wires going into it there is a holding bracket holding it in place take out the screw unhook the wires take out a screw holds the heating coil in take out that screw inspect the heating coil for breaks it sounds like it is burned out if so replace if not it is probably the oval shaped thermostat on the tube i do hope that this was helpful then reverse the procedure, thank you.

Gas dryer is not heating up

Could be a bad set of burner coils. Does the glow come on for a bit then goes out. And after a bit does same?
Probably bad coils. If you were able to change ignitor, you can do the coils. Unplug first! The coils are the 2 black cylinder shaped devices on burner. They are held on with a bracket that has 2 phillips screws. You can probably take them to your parts house and they can ohm them out for you. Make sure to write down their position before removing them.
