Can't connect through microsoft mn-700 router when hooking up trough cable modem

From your very brief explanation, my first thought is that you may not have the wireless settings set up properly in the wireless router.
You will need to connect first with a lan cat5e or similar type cable to first connect with the router.
If you have already done this, then the problem may be with your network adapter in your computer.

unless I knew more specifics, your problem is to vague to help further.

How do I manually add a device to my MN-700 router with a static IP?

The static ip address is set on the device itself, not the router.

You will need to make sure the ip address and subnet mask you specify for the device is in the same network range as the router.

Ex. MN-700 router IP Address
New device IP Address

If the new device is a pc, you will also need to enter the DNS settings provided by your ISP to be able to connect to services on the internet.

How to extend the range of my MN-700 Base Station

Hi Entry Level Extenders (or by their real technological name Repeaters) are chipset dependent and therefore guaranteed to work with Hardware of the same Brand. Configure the client AP to communicate to the MN-700 and then plug the second AP to it and configure it as a regular AP. Put the concoction in the middle of the way between the MN-700 and the destination computer. Doing such an arrangement might cost a little more, and be a little bulky. On the other hand it would not cut the bandwidth into Half as Repeaters do. Otherwise may be this can Help. Extending Distance: Wireless Bridging: Wireless Segregation:
