Question about Carrier 38CKC042 Air Conditioner

Noisy furnace Sounds like the blower might be making noise. Is there a way to lube the blower? A service manual would be a great deal of help to me. The unit is a Carrier Model 58RAV095-16 Series 161 S/n 2097A12945 At times it seems there is a humming coming from the furnace and no air from the vents, this happens after unit is on for a period of time. Thanks for any info.

The most common cause of noise is the blower motor bearings they are sealed, so replacement is the only option.

Is it cost effective to replace draft inducer blower on 22 year old furnace?

Depends on the cost to repair. Probably a 22 year old furnace is not very efficient also. Take every thing into consideration.
If it still works it may work for a while but you don't want a break down in the middle of winter.

It's a brand new unit but it blows air so hard and makes so much noise. Can the flow the adjusted down?

is the fan outside too noisy,if so there is no way to change the speed of this fan,the blower motor in the furnace can be adjusted, either by adjusting the centrifugal pulley on the motor shaft or electrically or installing a different squirrel cage fan on the furnace blower

Carrier 58mvp furnace ecm motor is making viberating noises

ecms are pretty reliable and electronic failure is much more common than bearing or bushing wearout. i suspect the fins on the blower may be coming loose from their pressed on spline and that will start a vibration or shimmy or you could have thrown a weight that balanced the wheel . best to use to warranty to get a new wheel. good luck

Noisy air conditioner

Sounds like the motor shaft and/or blower wheel have broke. The best scenario is that the blower wheel has only become loose. Shut the unit off. If you are comfortable using tools then use your manual to show you how to remove the blower assembly. When it is out you will need to check the Allen screw that holds the wheel to the motor shaft. If you are lucky you can just align the screw with the flat side of the shaft and re tighten! If you have the unit out, it should be pretty obvious if there is any other physical damage. Make sure you can spin the unit freely without any other complications before re installing it. Good Luck!
