Question about Maytag MER6769 Gemini Electric Kitchen Range
Had an error on F9 on Maytag range model no. MG5770ADB
Ordered a new clock an microprocessor board still has same problem error F9.
Can you help me
Try unplugging the oven from the electrical power. May release the
lock, which is held in place by a tiny micro switch. If not and while
the electric is still off or the oven is unplugged, use a bright light
flashlight to look through the slot where the lock is in the oven, not
in the door.
You may be able to use a thin blade screwdriver to move the lock to the release position. Check the angle of the lever. A slightly bent lever handle also can cause this type of condition.
If all else fails, remove the access panel on the front of the oven to access the locking device and release it. May have to disconnect the wires to the lock which will allow door to function but not during any self cleaning modes.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, to my knowledge, an "F9" error indicates a door lock problem. Might it be the problem is the switch/sensor that detects if the door is fully closed and latched?
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy Holidays.

Tips for a great answer:
Codes "F0," "F1," "F5," "F6," "F7," "F8" and "F9" are all various errors with the Maytag electronic range control, or ERC. The errors are various faults with the ERC and a replacement part is needed for the range.
F8 Analog/Digital supervisory Replace clock assembly (also called the ERC) More info, let me know. Charlie

Thanks for using FixYa. F9 error in your Maytag indicates Door latch issue and to resolve this you'll have to check the door lock circuit. If that is fine then replace the clock assembly/Electronic range control (ERC). Please rate the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.
