I looked up your Model with both P#'s. Sadly no water filters for your Refrigerator. Amana only has a few models with water filters.

No you don't. You have two water solenoids in the back. One for ice, one for water. Pull line off water solenoid and blow into it. For more help go live chat.

There's no ice If your ice maker has stopped producing ice completely, check these, in this order:

  • It may be turned off. Look for the wire along the right side of the ice maker that looks a bit like a coat hanger. If the wire is in the raised position, the ice maker is turned off. If so, try one of these:

    • If your ice maker has a small red plastic lever, lower it to lower the wire.

    • If there's no plastic lever, simply lower the wire.

In either case, the ice maker should begin producing ice again. Also make sure that the temperature is 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

  • The ice maker fill tube may be blocked with ice. If so, melt the blockage using a hair dryer-but be careful to not melt any plastic parts! Also replace the water shut-off valve or water-inlet valve, or both, if necessary.

  • The ice maker head assembly may have broken parts. Look to see if the gears are broken. Check to see if the small plastic arms that rest against the ice rake are broken. If the ice maker head assembly is modular and you've found broken parts, you can just replace it.

Small or too few ice cubes If the ice maker is producing ice poorly--making small cubes or too few cubes--you probably have a clogged water line, a defective water-inlet valve, or a defective ice maker mold thermostat that isn't cycling properly. Check these:

  • The water line that's attached to the back of the refrigerator. Make sure you have good water flow. If the flow is poor, repair, clean, or replace the tubing or the shut-off valve that supplies the water.

  • The water-inlet valve. Replace it if it has failed.

  • Check the freezer temperature. If should be 8 degrees Fahrenheit or lower. If the freezer is too warm, the ice maker won't cycle properly.

  • The ice maker mold thermostat. Make sure that it's cycling properly.

Specks in the cubes If you find black or gray specks in your ice cubes, have a look at the ice cube tray. If the protective coating is peeling away, the most economical solution is to completely replace the ice maker.

SOURCE: Water dispenser not working

I have a Hitachi R-M800GM.

When i operate the water dispenser, water flows out from the dispenser [not strong flow]. There is also water flowing out at the bottom of the freezer door [hinge area]

I think the line running inside the freezer door may have come loose? If so, how to reattach it? Do u have any layout drawings of how the hose is being connected.

Please help.

Thanks,

Rick

Where is the filter located in this model? Thank you!

Fridges with ice and water facilities have filters either inside the food compartment or at the rear of the fridge or on the water supply line from the tap. Look for a canister shaped part with hoses going to and from it or a canister shaped cover which unscrews inside the food compartment. Make sure you turn the water supply off at the tap before you take the filter out. The tap will be inside a cupboard adjacent the fridge or perhaps outside on a wall near where the hose goes through to the fridge. If you have the make and model, look them up on the internet under the manufacturers name. Most companies will have online instructions on filter changes.

I have mold that has formed in the water lines of my refrigerator. What can I do to fix this problem.

It is best to replace the line inside the door that goes to the pressure handle. Check the inside of the water supply line at the back of the fridge to insure it doesn't have mold. A chlorine solution will kill the mold but will leave the lines stained black inside. Installing a filter in the fridge line, some fridge makers sell them for their units helps prevent mold spores from getting inside the water lines. In most cases, only the small, short water line in the door tap is all that is affected.

I cant find the filter on my hotpoint no frost refridg.number csx22gr where is it.

your model number doesn't come up.if it's an older machine some didn't come with water filters, you had to add an inline filter on the copper water line, you would run your copper,go down the cellar or behind the machine, cut the copper and the filter connects in between the copper where you cut the line.if you do have a filter it could be in the fridge section top right side or down in the bottom kickplate.i found your model the a was missing after the b baww.it doesn't show a filter, this is an older unit, check behind or in basement, wherever the water line goes and see if there's a filter added into it,if not you can cut the copper and add a filter yourself.home depot sells them

My Amana side by side has a serial number of 36278. Very little water from the door, and hollow cubes.

Sounds like the screen filter in your water line is stopped up. It's behind the fridge where the water supply comes in. Take the line off and flush it out and see how much pressure you have. The filter is just before the water goes into the water inlet valve.

Water come's out to slow? changed filter! was doing it before i changed filter!

James -

Check to make sure the valve for the water supply is on fully - and not between the ON and OFF positions. If that is ok, the water supply line may have become restricted when the fridge was pushed into position the last time it was rolled out (for cleaning, etc.). The line may have become kinked (usually a copper line problem) or partially crushed (copper or plastic) under one of the fridge's rollers.

You should close the water valve before moving the fridge for inspection. Unplug the fridge. Disconnect the water line at the back of the fridge. Inspect the length of line for evidence of a crush or kink. Replace as needed. Test the flow of water into a larger container before reconnecting to fridge. If close to the fridge output, the valve and line to the fridge is suspect. Replace parts one at a time as needed until the problem is solved. If there is significantly more flow than when connected to the fridge, then the problem is somewhere in the fridge - but outside of the filter - there's little to change or go wrong for a "slow flow rate". It's usually an "all or nothing" deal inside the fridge.

Reassemble, turn water supply back on (check for leaks), plug into power, carefully roll fridge into position (watch the water line as long as possible to prevent crushing / kinking) and test.

Please rate this reply if helpful - good luck!

Plum in a Amana fridge freezer

hello. I am assumming that your model has the ice and water dispenser. Not all models do. On the rear of these models with the ice and water feature you will find a small [1/4 inch] line that has to be connected to a cold water supply source. If you go to most any hardware store you can get the little kit necessary to make this connection. The kit consists of a length of 1/4 inch tubing, the connector to attach to the tube at the rear of your appliance, a valve and a tapping kit to tap into your closest cold water source. If the fridge is near the kitchen sink, you may choose to connect under the sink. If not, make sure you purchase a kit with enough 1/4 inch tubing to reach your nearest cold water pipe. J.

Copper waterline is broken

Hi .. there should be piping connectors at each end of the tubing. I would disconnect those connectors andtake them to the building supply store and get new fittings and a new supply hose. The new hose does not need to be copper,. you do not need to cut the existing fittings off the wall or the fridge, the new fittings, or new hose can connect directly to the old fittings. my tool of choice is a pair of crescent wrenches

Water leak at filter

I had this with a Kitchenaid Superba and wanted to get rid of the filter holder assembly entirely as I have an undersink unit which serves the fridge. I removed the plastic line (nut) at the back of the fridge (which led to the filter holder at the front) where the flexible copper tubing inserted (this was a 3/8' compression fitting-plastic) and also the returning line (1/4" copper compression nut on a plastic line) at the manifold (again in the back of the fridge) where it gets split between the water line and the ice line. I then just connected the 1/4" flexible copper directly to the manifold (1/4" nut, compression sleeve, male-male connector) using a pre-made 1/4" flexible compression line. Sounds complicated but after seeing how the water routes it was fairly quick work.

Bad water & ice cube taste

Hello redwood City
Welcome

You said,
Your Kitchenaid Superba KSRG25FKBL15 has bad tasting water and ice cubes. You replaced the copper tubing which delivers the water to the fridge and that didn't help. You replaced the copper tubing again with plastic tubing...no better. Any suggestions? Your tap water doesn't taste this bad.You bought a Kenmore french door fridge with water dispenser in the door in July 2008. The fridge has a filter. A few weeks after the fridge came the water and ice started tasting really bad, unlike any bad water taste I have ever tasted. And your tap water is fine. The bad taste appears to be random. Sometimes you get a cup full of nasty water and sometimes it tastes fine.

First you must know you have a 1 year warranty and can have them come out to fix anything, no charge. If it persists. You will have to get tough and you , MUST INSIST THEY REPLACE YOUR FRIDGE

When installing the water line these were a part of the directions!
Did you do this before connecting the water line to your fridge?
"Place the free end of the tubing in a container or sink, and
turn ON the main water supply. Flush the tubing until water is
clear. Turn OFF the shutoff valve on the water pipe. Coil the
copper tubing."

Whirlpool remedy
Off-taste, odor or gray color in the ice
1.Are the plumbing connections new, causing discolored or
off-flavored ice? Discard the first few batches of ice.
2.Have the ice cubes been stored too long? Throw old ice
away and make a new supply.
3.Does the freezer and ice storage bin need to be cleaned?
See “Cleaning” or “Ice Maker and Storage Bin.”
4.Has food in the freezer or refrigerator been wrapped
properly? Use airtight, moisture-proof packaging to help
prevent odor transfer to stored food.
5.Does the water contain minerals (such as sulfur)? A filter
may need to be installed to remove the minerals.
6. Is there a water filter installed on the refrigerator? Gray or
dark discoloration in ice indicates that the water filtration
system needs additional flushing. Run additional water
through the water dispenser to flush the water filtration
system more thoroughly (at least 2 to 3 gal. [8 to 12 L] or 6 to
7 minutes initially). Discard discolored ice.

Let me know what works,
Thank You ,
HUUUM!!
