the touchpad is not in the mouse properties so im guessing the driver for the touchpad somehow got deleted on my last shutdown..and i could not find the right driver in that link for the touch pad.i currently have a logitech laser mouse plugged in and thats all it shows for this laptop in the mouse properties, nothing for the touchpad as i said. oh and forgot to mention im using windows xp professional. and the touchpad is the factory sony touchpad that it came with.

GO into your mouse properties in the control panel and make sure you have the touchpad mouse turned on. This is a link that should give you any drivers you need.

Why does my vaio keyboard and pad stop working

Connect External USB keyboard and Mouse and use for a while.
If all keep working problem is likely with connectors or Motherboard

Sony Vaio vgn-fe590p, when starting up the screen lights up, but it is dim and blurry. Could this be the inverter, or the lcd screen is bad?

Start with drivers,http://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=VGNFE590P&template_id=1&region_id=1&tab=download#/downloadTab . Has it been damaged? Dropped, jarred, etc. It may be the monitor/graphics is going. Hard to say exactly. Is it overheating?

Laptop pad not responding at all

Make sure that the drivers are installed for the pad. Also check and make sure the pad is turned on in the BIOS. You also need to make sure you have the software installed that allows you to toggle between the two.

My laptop left mouse button has stopped working

Common hardware problem. The correct solution is a replacement tracker pad and mouse, however you may be able to get the problem fixed by cleaning under the pad. Either way it requires taking the laptop apart.

The mouse is frozen in my Sony Vaio VGN-NR180E . It won't move .It also looks like the screen is locked. It feels like my mouse is locked. Thanks so much for your help!

Restart the computer-

Plug up a USB mouse to see if that doesn't work

Your touch pad software may not be installed. Goto Sony's device driver support page and download the mouse drivers for your model. Sony has good software support. You'll find the touchpad program easy. Reload and see where that puts you.

I have a Sony Vaio. The keybaord is froxen. Keys can be depressed but with no action whatsoever. I am able to use and select with the wireless mouse but no keys - can you help?

Recommend to confirm the computer functions properly with a USB keyboard connected.

If it functions correctly with the external keyboard, most likely the notebook's keyboard is damaged or possibly disconnected. To fix either problem disassembly by a technician to take care of the repairs would be required.

The arrow is frozen on my laptop other than that the pc is working normally

Could be the mouse lock key. I am unsure as to which key it is on yours. Mine is the F9 key. it will have a picture of 2 mouse on , 1 with a no go sign over it (circle with a diagonal line through) try pressing the "fn" key and F9 and see if this unlocks the cursor.
