Don't know if this is a common problem but I've just recently noticed what looks like a stress fracture on the screen case.

I have the same issue - over $500 to replace, according to the local repair center.
Any idea where you can get used parts - for instance, the monitor off a computer that no longer works?

As I'm right handed this would be the bit that gets the most wear when in primary portrait mode. Luckily it's still under warranty so it's going back. Anyone else?
Well, mine's got to go back anyway as the external firewire dvd drive is dead and they insist that the tablet goes back with it (they won't do a drive swap) so I might as well get it done at the same time.
Looks like it's a common problem then - case not strong enough.
