    HI,

Please reinstall the mouse drivers. To do that Please right click on My computer icon select properties and then in hardware tab select device manager(for Xp) or click on Device manager on the right side (for vista).
After the device manager opens double click on "mice and pointing devices" under that right click on what ever name of you mouse is then click on uninstall,if it gives you a message whether you want to remove this or not say yes and then restart your laptop. This should fix the issue.

    Let me know the result.

Try connecting external mouse and check out if that external mouse is working properly.if that is working then it must be internal loose connection problem.get it repaired.

Try first using system restore to a date before you had this problem, if this does not work, then you have a faulty pad.

If you have had the problem recently, use system restore to restore the system to an earlier date, before you started experiencing the problem.

If this does not help, or if you cannot do system restore, then you need to reinstall the system.
Do a full backup of your files first, then use HP recovery tool, or the recovery CD to reinstall the system on your laptop.

If you still have the problem with a newly installed system, then the mousepad is defective and must be reinstalled.

Use an external mouse to see what the device manager says about the touchpad. The device manager is in the control panel OR you can click start and type DEVMGMT.MSC and hit enter. Look for any ! or ? or X next to anything on the list.

Adjusting pcoutput signal with windows xp

The only 'output signal' you are going to adjust is the video signal.
The only adjustment there is the Screen Resolution, and Screen Quality.

Right-click on an empty area of your desktop screen.
Left-click on Properties at the bottom of the drop-down list.

In the Display Properties window left-click on the Settings tab.
In the middle of the window, and on the left side, is Screen resolution.

Move the Slider to the left to Decrease the resolution.
To the right to Increase the resolution.

(The Slider is the arrow that has a green tip on the top and bottom. Sits on the line in-between Lee and More.

Put your mouse cursor on it, press the left mouse button down, and hold it down.
Now drag the Slider back and forth, by moving the mouse left to right. Set it to the Screen resolution that you desire)

Color quality:
It should state - Highest (32 bit)
If not click on the blue down arrow to the right.
Then click on Highest (32 bit)

After you set the Screen resolution and/or the Color quality, be SURE to go below, and click on Apply.

Then click on OK.

The above not what you had in mind? Post back in a Comment.

I bought a used T30 so I don't have the instructions. I can't get my arrow pad to work. I can move the arrow but when I click on something I have to use my mouse?? Is there a way to activate so I can...

debiplow401 what if I give you the instructions?

ThinkPad T30 Setup Guide.

(How to;
1) Set up your computer
2) Turn on the system
3) Use the TrackPoint pointing device
4) Volume button controls
5) Access ThinkPad

http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-42266

Click on the first file listed -
t30engsq 62p9239.pdf.............English - Setup Guide for ThinkPad T30

This is a PDF file. Takes a few seconds after you click on the file name to see the first page. Also takes additional time to fully download. Suggest letting the file fully download before looking through it, or saving a copy.

If you are aware of the following please disregard;

1) The box to the right of the blue Down Arrow is the page number box.
If you know the page number you wish to go to, you can;
A) Put your mouse cursor in the box, Left-click once
B) Type the page number
C) Press the Enter key

Much faster than using the Down Arrow.

The + sign in the top header is the Zoom In icon.
The - sign is the Zoom Out icon.
Most of the time the file will be downloaded in a too large view for readily viewing.

To save a copy:
You can save a copy to a CD disk.
This way you can delete it from your computer, and save Harddrive space, and have the file anytime you wish.

Left-click on the Floppy Disk icon.
The Floppy Disk icon is in the top header, and is the second icon from the left.
If you hover your mouse cursor over the Floppy Disk icon, it will briefly reveal,
"Click to save this file to your computer or another location"

After you click on the Floppy Disk icon a small window will come up.
Save a copy...
At the top of the Save a copy window you will see a box with - Save in: to the left.
In the box is stated where the file will download to.

I would put the file in My Documents.
Click on the blue Down Arrow to the right of the box, then click on My Documents in the list.

Down at the bottom of the Save a copy window is the File name: box.
You will see - t30ensq_62p9239.pdf in the box.
You can add to this file name to make it easier for you to find.

Put your mouse cursor in the box right after the f in .pdf
Left-click twice.
Type ThinkPad T30 Setup Guide.

Now go to the bottom of the Save a copy window, and click on Save.

To find, and open the file:
Click on Start> Double-click on My Documents > Click on the file name

Lenovo IdeaPad Y510 touchpad problem

Sounds like something with your motherboard. If an external mouse is doing the same thing it might be the mouse controller on the motherboard. If still under warranty give them a call.

My cursor froze.

this is a software or possibly a touch pad mouse issue. First you can quickly correct this by going to accessories located under start in Vista and going to system recovery. Tell it in that section to revert to an earlier time. Remember when the mouse was working? What date? click on the date when the mouse was working and click next.

The computer will reboot and mouse should be working. If not the mouse touch pad may need to be replaced. Buy a usb mouse for now if you have to work on it immediatly.

Multi Recorder CD/DVD burner not reading disc

Optical Drive Filter Issue

The issue was caused by software that may have been installed with the option to burn or copy things to and from a disc.

The issue is resolved by the following:

Clicking start.
Typing regedit in the start search box.
Hit enter.
Look on left for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE.
Click the arrow to the left of it.
Look for SYSTEM.
Click the arrow to the left of it.
Look for CurrentControlSet.
Click the arrow to the left of it.
Look for Control.
Click the arrow to the left of it.
Look for Class.
Click the arrow to the left of it.
Look for the first line of random letters and numbers. Example: {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}
Click on the line itself this time. NOT the arrow.
Look on the right side under the data tab for (value not set).
Keep clicking the down arrow key until it says DVD/CD-ROM drives.
Then look under the name tab for either Upper Filter or Lower Filter or both.
Right on both these if listed (they may not always both be there).
Select delete.
Close windows and restart computer.

"sticky" mouse on compaq laptop

Unless your left mouse button has been severely damaged, it is unlikely that a loose button is the cause of your problem. More likely, it is your touchpad. Chances are your touchpad is set to click when tapped. Oversensitive touchpads can click randomly when you're dragging your finger across the touchpad.

To test this, position your cursor over a link (or other button) but don't press the left mouse button. Instead, lightly tap the touchpad itself. If the link or button is clicked, go to your Control Panel and adjust the Mouse options so your touchpad no longer clicks when tapped. It's usually a setting titled "tap to click" or something along those lines.
