It is a common fault that the drain fails to work in most machines in a period of time and is the most problematic fault in a washing machine. In all occasions it is important that your observation is most important and so is vital to the identification /rectification and solution. If you have noticed that water has leaked then as the drain hose pump/valve and fittings are located on the underside of the machine it is important that you look for possible leaks here. In some cases the drain hose would be clogged at the drain end to outlet of the house and so there will be back flushing resulting in overflow to the outside. Also the drain pump/valve can be clogged. Now remove the drain hose clamps and remove the drain pump/valve, clean the drain pump/valve, use back flushing to clear off all dirt. Now test using power to see if this works and can be simulated. When refitting, the hose must be tightened properly. If the pump/valve does not work even with power then it must be replaced. If there is intermittent power to the drain valve/pump then the program controller unit is a suspect.

Finally the washer must be placed with a tilt- use a spirit level- so that all water will drain to the outlet port and thereby there is no residual water remaining.

OE is a drain error (indicating the machine has not drained out in under 10 minutes). If the drain pump is not coming on at all then you have a bad drain pump motor. If it is trying to drain then you may have a clogged up drain hose. The most likely cause is a bad drain pump motor. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: LG WM-2277HB washer does not drain and make rattling noise.

I would guess that the impeller has come off the pump motor shaft. You can disassemble and push it back on, but it will come off again. I don't know if some type of adhesive would work, but I just replace the pump motor.
Drain water from small drain hose (or by removing filter) Remove the screw in the plastic recess by the filter, then use a putty knife on the left or right side to pop out the recess. Remove two more screws holding pump body to front frame of washer. Pull washer about 18 inches away from wall and tilt it back to lean against wall to allow access to the pump through the large rectangular hole in the base of the washer. There is a plastic locking tab holding the pump body to the plastic washer base, but don't worry if you break that, as the screws (removed earlier) will hold the pump back on just fine. Pump motor is held onto pump body with three more screws. Replace pump motor with a new one and reassemble. On a difficulty scale of 1 -10, this one might rate a 4.5 or a 5. Not too bad.

Leaking is rarely, if ever, caused by the drain pump. Small leaks can come from using too much soap, which backs up in the dispenser area and leaks down inside the machine, or larger leaks from a cut in the door gasket.

SOURCE: OE Code LG washer - cleaned filter, checked pump

It is a long drain error. The washer is not fully drained after 10 minutes of draining. Remove the cabinet cover and check the following:

  1. Connector The connector may disconnected or disassembled. Reassemble or repair if necessary.
  2. Drain pump coil
Check pump coil resistance between the terminals using an ohmmeter. Resistance should be between 10-20 ohms. If the resistance is too high or too low, replace the drain pump.
  3. Voltage Check the voltage between the connector in step 1 during spin. The voltage should be 120Vac, else replace the main board assembly
Main board replacement:
  1. Disconnect the power connector and sensor switch assembly.
  2. Remove the main board protective cover.
  3. Disconnect the connectors.
  4. Remove the screw on the back of the main board.
  5. Slide the main board to the right then pull it up.
  6. Replace the main board in reverse order above.

It's not draining properly Pump replaced & filter cleaned what next

If pump is new and filter is clean the next step would be to check the drain hose. This is an overlooked possibility. The pump has a lot of pressure, but if it is pushing against a wall of CLOG it will not drain. The CLOG could be lint, hair, strings, or anything else that got as far as the CLOG. You would have to check drainage all the way to main pipe. Good Luck Friend.

The water does not drain I check for clogged lines and they where not. could it be my drain plump si shot

You did not indicate that you pulled the pump filter to check for a clog or restriction. If you did not pull the filter out then I recommend that you follow the steps shown in this image to pull the pump filter out and check for a clog or restriction in this area. Since the tub drained using the hose beside this filter then it is likely that a clog or restriction in the pump filter is causing your drain problem. If you find no problems in this filter then you could have an undetected clog in the drain hose or you could have failed/clogged drain pump. If the pump is not running in the drain mode then you could have a failed control board or a wiring failure.

Water will not drain out

Check the drain filter located at the bottom of the wash tub. Clean if clogged. The pump noise could be due to non availability of the washed water continuously due to clog.

Clean the drain filter. Check the final drain output after the pump(hose) for free flow if you have connected it to a drain system.

I have a Whirlpool Duet 9100 I keep getting F02 error. My husband took it apart and cleaned the hose and filter but it still won't drain or spin and makes a clicking noise.

"F02" is a Long Drain error. If the drain time exceeds 8 minutes this error code will be displayed. In addition, a "SUDS" error may also be generated as a secondary error. This is an indication of a drain pump problem and/or clog in the drain line. You will need to check the following:

1. Check the drain hose to make sure it is not kinked or clogged.
2. Check the electrical connections to the pump and ensure the pump is running.
3. Remove the drain pump filter and check for foreign objects and/or debris.

To check the drain pump, click on the following link for step-by-step instructions.

If the above procedures do not correct the problem, it is recommended by the manufacturer to replace the drain pump

Clunking noise when water is trying to drain

You may have something inside the drain pump and the pump fins are just knocking the large debris around.  You will need to disassemble the drain pump to see what's inside it.  This will require a call from a qualified LG technician.

He3 code

If your drain time exceeds 8 minutes an "F02" error code will be displayed. This is known as a "Long Drain" error code. This (as you already know) can be an indication of a clog in the drain line, a kinked drain hose, or clogged pump. The "Suds" error is another symptom that is most commonly caused by using improper amounts of detergent and/or using regular detergent instead of HE detergent. The "Suds" error is usually detected by too much air in the pump and drain line caused by over-sudsing. However, this can also be caused by restricted flow such as a clog (which you had corrected), or a failed pump. I would recommend replacing the drain pump at this point. Since you mentioned you found coins in the clean out, the drain pump impeller and/or motor could be potentially damaged, causing it to not run properly. If you go to searspartsdirect.com and type in your model number (located around the door opening) you will find the part number for your pump under the "Pump and Motor" heading. Look for item number 10 (part #8181684). The pump costs about $72.00. If you wish to replace this on your own, I can give you step-by-step instructions on how to do it. However, if Sears has been there and you still have the same problem, they offer a 90 day warranty on their repairs and this repair SHOULD be covered because they did not fix the original problem. Even if you can't find your receipt, they should have a record of the repair history in their computer. I know it may be an aggravation at this point, but you might want to call them again. The repair might not cost you anything.
