I am writing for help with an item i bought from my local store. I purchased a Goodmans GDVDR 305 DVBT about 1 year ago. After about 5 months there was a fault with it because when i tried to view freeview or watch a DVD, the machine seemed to work for 5 - 20 minutes then it froze and i couldn't turn it over or do anything with the remote. I then had to turn it off at the mains. I then got a replacement and after 2 months the same thing happened with the replacement. i have lost my receipt so i can't get a replacement so i was wondering if their is an known fault with this model as the same thing happening again is more than just a coincidence and i would expect a new item to last a lot longer than this. I am thinking of getting it fixed so it would be helpful to know if you know the problem and if it is worth getting it fixed. cheers

Hey there cyclonesid, capacitors look like little batteries, and have a shiny flat top with perforation lines on it. If the capacitor is going or gone, this flat top begins to peak and sometimes show points of corrosion. jpe is associated with thermal fuses which are used to protect devices from excessive ambient temperatures. These are not expensive and relatively easy to replace (if required) by a professional. I hope this helps. Good Luck!

You can do this digitally on a computer using Adobe Premiere Elements.
