Since the exterior side of the lock only has a keypad and no lever, I'm not sure what you mean by the "outside lever". Here is a clear, easy to follow video of the installation. Please carefully review each aspect of your installation against it to see if you can spot an installation mistake:

Remove outside mirror on 2012 chevy traverse

You need a special puller for the inside door panel. Have to go to an autoparts store for it. Then you take out all the screws on the door panel. The you use the puller on the bottom and sometimes the sides to LOCATE and REMOVE the fasteners..Lift the panel up and away from the door. Careful about any wires that might be connected to switches. Unplug those if present. You will now be looking at a sheet of sound deadening material that has a tar like substance on it. You cannot really save this and it is messy. remove it and then you can see the internal door and window parts. Be careful because the parts are sharp. Long sleeves and gloves are recommended. See if you can reach in under the window and feel for the bolts. If you cannot then the window has to be removed. Locate and remove the glass retainer and remove the window. Then remove any bolts holding the window mechanical parts. Then you should be able to get to the bolts for the mirror.

New deadbolt notworking?

You have the lever that goes from the key cylinder part of the lock through the striker portion of the locking assembly turned part way, either in the wrong direction or not turned enough in the right direction so if you take the inside portion of the lock off and pull the outside portion out of the door and rotate the lever to its proper position and then put if all back together in the correct sequence it should work properly.

What does E40 mean?

Here's the repair manual for your model: manuals...asher_2004.pdf

There is a test chart in the troubleshooting section you can follow. Test#7 on page 62 talks about the door latch/lock, it asks if your door strike is broken, I've seen a few break before myself.

If you replaced the door latch assembly and its still doing it, and the door strike isn't broken then it said your control board is the culprit.

Hope helps.

The front passenger door will not open with the outside door handle or the interior door handle. after taking the inside door cover off, i discovered the interior door handle is broken and the connector...

The locking mechanism is manufactured with carbon composite and plastic levers that the door handles attach to. It is hard to tell what parts that you do need. Remove the passenger side door panel. It will have some screws and maybe a bolt on the inside handle. The panel has snap plug on it and they fit into designated hole in the door. After getting the door panel off, be careful here, there are sharp metal edges that can cut. There are some peep hole to see the rods and connector inside the door. If the plastic hooks on the door locking mechanism are broken. The hole door lock assembly will need to be replaced.

Try your local wrecking yards and tell them what type of vehicle you have and year. Also, state what door it is and what you will need.

Now, if the interior door hand hook on the lock mechanism isn't broke off. The get a cloths hanger and straighten it out and attach it to the opening latch on locking mechanism. This will give you inside temporary handle, while you are trying to fix the door. Safety. GB...stewbison

How do I change the handles from right to left?

If you don't have the print instructions for your lock, go to this web page:

http://www.kaba-ilco.com/access_control/literature/literature_grid_mechanical_pushbutton_locks.aspx?id=13

On the grid, go across from L1000 to the "Manuals" column & click on PDF, which will download the file of the manual for your lock.

If you cannot open the file to view it, you need to install Adobe Reader first. You can get the download (free) from here:

http://get.adobe.com/reader/

Now you should have the manual for reference.

Someone else who was wanting to change the handle sent me this information:

"I've got a Simplex L1000 series combination that needs the Outside Lever Assembly-Right Hand and Outside Sleeve Assembly changed on it. I have the parts needed but I can't figure out how to remove the Outside Lever from the Front Lock Housing.

I had the original question. For others viewing and needing the answer it's as follows: After looking and removing the internal parts I still couldn't find the solution, so I ended up sending it to a locksmith to replace the parts. They told me later that ALL internal parts from the Front Lock Housing needed to be removed, then rotate outside lever 180 degrees. Using spanner wrench depress the front knob retainer, then outside lever should slide off. Remove Drive Assemply and Front knob retainer from rear of front lock housing. *The key was rotating the lever 180 degrees. Nowhere in the directions was this mentioned nor was it mentioned in the email reply I received from Simplex.. So for all you out there, Good Luck! And make sure to add this key step to your directions."

As you will find in the manual, you need a special spanner wrench for this operation.
The spanner wrench (SMPBC201278 Simplex:SpannerWrench $9.00) referred to can be purchased from this site:

I can't open my front right door from inside or outside.

you must remove the inner door panel to gain accessd to the latching hardware in the door and manually trigger the lever that will free up the door from the strike rod on the door frame. once open then you can replace the whole door handle and latch assembly

Dryer knob sticks in one spot- won't move

Door switch / Door switch actuator leverThe dryer would not start with a broken door switch. Replace the door switch if found defective.

Most dryers have a door switch actuator lever - when you close a dryer door, it presses against the lever, which actuates the door switch. If the lever is broken, the switch would not activate and the dryer would not start. Replace the lever, if broken.

Note: Door switch actuator lever usually comes with the door switch assembly and it is recommended to get the whole assembly since there is almost no price difference between the door switch assembly and just the lever. Check your model for more details.
