Thermodor model #RDFS30RS left forward burner won' light. Ignitor works but no gas.

The front left burner does not light. The ignitor appears to be working (sparks when burner knob is turned on). I could not get the burner to light with a match so I suspect there is not gas getting to the burner. The other burners work well.

I am having trouble accessing the electronic components under the stovetop and don't want to force it too much. I have not been able to find a manual that describes how to get to the components. Anyone know how to di it?

Take the bad one out and one that you know works. Compare them to see if the tube is clear and the air shutters are adjusted the same openings

SOURCE: My Thermador Range (Model #GCV36G)

A yellow flame that high indicates that the air input is low so the mixture is too rich, so it lights very hard and it gets a poor flame.
The defect is in the burner, it's clogged by dirt. Try to clean it from the outside just by pulling every loose parts. If that fails the top of the range will have to be removed to access the entire burner, take it out from it, dismantled and cleaned thoroughly.
You can find the necessary diagrams here

But i must warn you: you will be working on a gas unit; if you can't be sure you can do the job properly, without causing any leaks afterwards, you should call a repairman.

Kenmore elite gas dryer he3 model 110.95862402 won't heat

Since it is gas, you need to find out if the ignitor is coming on to ignite the gas (if you have gas getting to the burners). If you have gas, but the ignitor is not coming on, then you have to determine if the electronic contol is sending a signal for the ignitor to ignite. The most likely cause is the ignitor

I have a Jenn-Air Gas Glasstop stove. When I turn the large burner on the gas turns on but the ignitor switch does not light the burner. When I turn any of the other burners on I can see all the ignitor...

It sounds like there may be an issue with the ignitor switch for the large burner. Here are a few things you can try to troubleshoot the issue:
  1. Clean the ignitor: Sometimes the ignitor can become dirty, which can prevent it from working properly. Try cleaning the ignitor with a soft brush or cloth to see if that helps.
  2. Check the wiring: Make sure the wiring for the large burner is properly connected and not damaged. If you're not comfortable working with wiring, it's best to call a professional.
  3. Replace the ignitor switch: If cleaning the ignitor and checking the wiring doesn't help, it's possible that the ignitor switch for the large burner is faulty and needs to be replaced. You can find replacement parts online or through a professional repair service.
  4. Call a professional: If you're not comfortable troubleshooting or making repairs yourself, it's best to call a professional appliance repair service to diagnose and fix the iss

Electrolux chef oven.. pilot light on but the oven is not heating up

Hi,
I need more information to help you, first of all, to the bast of my knowledge I thought all there units were light but ignitors not pilots. I need a model number to verify. Also if the ignitor comes on just because it glows does not mean it is strong enough to open the safety valve and allow gas to enter the burner. I use a meter to determine that issue, it needs to be 3.2 to 3.6 amps to open, if ignitor is running at 2.8 amps it may work sometimes, if lower, it won't work at all just glow.
I would need a model number to get you more information, looking forward to assisting you further...

Viking gas oven model # VGIC3656BSS, serial #022404-2919 takes FOREVER to preheat up. Sometimes in excess of 40 minutes. Been a problem for a while. Looks like flames at bottom do not increase when oven...

When increasing the temp. on a gas range the oven's burners do not increase flame size as the cooktop burners do. It just keeps the burner lighted for a longer amount of time.

First if you can see the burners do they light within about a min. or less. If no you probably have bad igniters which are not lighting the burners as quickly as they should or they are "opening up" (stops working) when they get too hot. In this case replacement of the igniters should solve the problem.

Second if it lights quickly but still takes a while to heat; you want to look at the burners to ensure that the flames are down both sides of the burner tube and not dancing around too much. If only part of the two sides of the burner tubes are lighted then a pluged orifice or burner tube is the most likely cause. Once cleaned it should work fine.

As with anything mechanical there are numurous possiblities for something not working correctly and above are the two most popular reasons that come to my mind.

Hoping someone can point me in the right direction. Oven won't light, but the stove top burners are fine. Don't smell any gas or any indication the oven is attempting to light....

next time send the brand name and model number so i can look up your machine,if it's a gas stove most likely it will be a bad ignitor, even if the ignitor glows it still could be bad,if the flame doesn't ignite and the ignitor is glowing change it out,if it isn't glowing pull out the ignitor and check it with a meter, common problem.

Top right burner on hotpoint gas range doesn't light

there is a spark ignition in the middle between the front and back burners....one for the left side and one on the right side. When it was cleaned i bet that the spark ignitor was slightly bent towards the front burner...now the gap is too big to fire the rear burner...the ignitor is very similar as the spark made in those push down lighters. so its safe to play around and adjust them as needed to make them work...Go ahead and take it apart and tinker with adjusting it...until you get both front and rear burners running again the way it was before.( peek at the otherside as a reference and try to make it match)
I hope this helps you out a little bit 8-)

Ignitor won't shut off

The Viking manual says that an ignitor that continues to try to light even after the burner has been lit indicates improper grounding, and that an electrician should be consulted.

Perhaps you could try to replace the ignitor, and see if that fixes the problem?

I have a similar age, 6-burner 36" rangetop.

Problem with getting burner to light.

All my ignitors spark when I turn one of them on. I'v been told it is normal. I had a problem before and the tech that replace the ignitor said the issues is with alignment. Try to rotate the burner a bit left or right and see if it fixes it.

Jenn Air Pro Style gas range - ignitors on 2 burners (same side) click but don't light

I had a problem in which only one burner refused to light with the electronic ignition, even though the same ignitor (they are shared) would light the rear burner on the same side, and the problem burner would light with a match. On inspection, the spark occurs at a central point and there is a tube which apparently leads gas from each burner to the ignitor. There are two groupings of 3 holes each on the sloping part of each burner, facing toward the ignitor. After lighting both burners (the front one with a match), I saw that the lower group of 3 holes had tiny flames on the burner that worked properly, but not on the other. I carefully cleaned each of these holes with a small pin, and the problem appears to be solved.
