Question about Hamilton Beach Water Cooler with Storage Cabinet

1 Answer

I cannot dispense water from the cold water/fan runs all the time

Seems I can unplug unit for 24 hours and it works for a couple hours correctly then seems to "freeze up" I noticed that the dual cooling chip was missing for a couple months and have recently replaced but still not working correctly.

First of what temperature are you running is the refrigerator and also what is the ambient temp? whats happeneing is that the water resevour is freezing in the back of the refrigerator . So if the temperature is say 34 iit can actually be a lot colder in the regfriigerator than that due to temperature averaging. Thanks fpor using Fixya and Merry Christmas

Not dispensing cold water

turn the system of unplug and turn the machine upside down without the water bottle. There shud be 2 drain plugs underneath. remove one at a time and force water or air backwards thru these drains to ensure no obstacle in pipes. Also check inside that no pipes are bent closed so as to block water from flowing thru. It doesnt work via a pump but a simple gravity feed system. also the cooling works diferent to a normal fridge, doesnt have gas in it it cools by a heating element that cools on the one side and heats on the other side. Also check that ur fan on the cooling side is still running properly it shud turn of after a couple minutes and turn on when the water gets hot again.hope it helps.regards.viv

Cold water fan won't shut off runs all the time.....

HI. this is a stuck fan relay switch that is located inside the unit. normally, if you unplug the unit for 5 minutes, this will reset the controls and, allow the relay switch to reset as well. i would try this before replacing the fan switch(relay).

Cold Water not squirting out cold water

To resolve this problem, unplug the dispenser and let it sit for about 24 hours. I had this problem happen to me and I took the unit apart to find out the cause. I discovered that the the water cooling mechanism developed a big chunk of ice inside of it and it basically blocked the flow water. Allowing that ice to melt should resolve this problem. It did for us.

Hamilton Beach 87330 water cooler

Hello! About 2 weeks ago, the same problem began on my Hamilton Beach water dispenser.
Last week, I called the HB service support, and they told me to do the following reset procedure:

1. Dispense 3 cups from the HOT water side, and also, 3 cups from the COLD water side.
2. Turn BOTH back switches OFF (the ones on the back of the water dispenser).
3. Unplug the dispenser, and LEAVE it unplugged for 24 hours.
4. After 24 hours, turn the back switches ON and plug it in.
5. Leave it on for 4 hours WITHOUT dispensing any water.'s been about 12 hours since I've dispensed water again for the first time, and so far, SO GOOD! I'll update if the problems reappear.

It is freezing up inside the cooler

Turn the screw on the back of the unit so that the water is not chilled to such an extreme cold

No Cold Water

Sounds like the fans have stoped turning for the cooling system. If you cannot hear the fans turn on when you flip the COOL switch this is your problem. Pick the fans up at a computer parts store like Frys. Any other part failure on this unit other than a loose wire is not worth repairing.
