Question about Sharp R-1490 Microwave Oven
When we use our microwave, GE Spacemaker XL1800, there is a strange rattling sound while the blower is on. When we use the vent fan, however, the sound is not present. The microwave is otherwise working properly. We have tried to look inside in order to determine if anything is loose, but nothing seems to be. Can anyone help? Thank you.
Chances are the blade assembly has come loose on the shaft of the internal cooling fan.
This can be solved with a couple of drops of super glue at the spot where the blade and shaft meet, then allow it to dry for several minutes.
You can find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.
At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.
Then you'll see the cooling fan.
Please let us know what you find.
