Formatting a laptop is the same as doing it on a desktop computer. If you are using the Windows installation CD then to get the laptop to boot up with the Windows CD you can change the BIOS boot startup device and make the CD the first boot device.

The First Thing To do Is To turn off the power, and remove the battery.
Then Remove the Hard-Drive, Should Be In A Drive-Bay Underneath.
Put the password In.
this Will solve This Problem for You :)
Alternatively Install a new hard-drive and re-install Windows et,c.
Or send the hard-drive to be unlocked Or data recovered.
The only other Option, is To purchase A software tools Disk from me, And you,ll Probably unlock it That way.
