NAT restriction When I play my X box 360 online sometimes depending on what game I get a "NAT Restriction" comment. I think it is a problem with my router but not sure. Does anyone have a solution?

Your internet connection is not strong enough for the xbox live sevice... it may be week and have short connection failures, causing it to say that, try pluging directly into your broadband instead of using a router

Try resetting your router and or modem and then restart your Xbox. If that doesn't work I'd suggest calling your Internet provider for more help.

How to unmute yourself on xbox 360

Hi there I can sort understand what you mean and I think this is the answer. If you cannot be heard normally in chat when online even though your mic is turned on or you have made sure that in preferences, you went in to audio settings and made sure you were not on mute? My guess is your having issues with your NAT settings as this can affect you chat settings when online. For example, xheck your NAT status and if it is MODERATE or STRICT then this is why. If you NAT is OPEN then it is because the players you are playing with have a NAT issue. MODERATE and STRICT NAT's will limit what you can do online, including chatting.
Hope this answers your question :)

The only reason why I think you aren't able to find any games is because your Nat is closed. to open your NAT try this link. Also try to have your search preferences on fastest.

You can contact Xbox regarding that as they have a certain restriction with connecting 2 XBOXs to XBOX live at the same time.

Router will not allow me to play onling games through xbox 360

If the problem has something to do with NAT firewall in your router, then you may need to open certain application ports for your XBOX in the router. You may check this link from Microsoft http://support.microsoft.com/kb/908874 that talks about NAT firewall and XBOX live.

Hope this helps!

Network address translation [nat]

Depending on your router, you will need to go to its setup. Go to the link where you can forward ports. (Port range forwarding). Then you will enter the information that you recieved when you called Xbox Customer Support. (Call them for it, it is free) Enter the information and you will be good to go.

Nat settings on netgear wgr614 wireless router

Hello --

Most NAT settings can be found, on modern routers, under the WAN setup of the router interface. Normally, it is set to Secured with the option of setting it to Open. Click Open and apply changes, giving the router a moment to reset the software and re-broadcast transmissions.

This comes secured for public consumption because the normal consumer would not create a WAN (wide access network) at home. However, gaming consoles (PS3 and Xbox 360) require this because of the P2P hosting that most online multiple-player games require. Setting it to Open full-duplexes the transmissions without restriction (since gaming console connections are "supposed" to be secure anyway).

After you've set the NAT settings, restart the gaming console, test the 'net connection and confirm it is reading your now Open NAT settings.
