Hi i can't upgrade my millenium edition pc with bought vista disc.i put it in the drive and nothing happens ,i get the message inesrt disc into drive d,then when i do that again the same message...

Your disc may be empty or no data or it may not compatible with your drive, you need to scrape the hole of disc in a round with a hard key or knife or any other thing which can easily be inserted in its hole to make compatible with your drive. Do not scrape it so much.

Disc that came with this MP3 player won't download onto our computer

Some discs don't automatically start when inserted into the drive. One way to try to access it is to go to Start>My Computer and double click on your CD/DVD drive, where if it is reading the disc, the file will be. It should open up for you. If not, try ejecting the disc, waiting a moment, and inserting it again.

When ready to burn i insert my disc and it says to please insert a blank cd or disc.

Might be your disc contains some data, or the disc is bad, try replacing the disc and see if it works.

How to install windows xp in sony vaio vgn-nw270F? tia

I will explain the process for you.

First of all if your computer has some windows like windows 98 or older than you can install the windows by simply inserting the disc and choosing the drive and install the windows.

However if you do not have any windows installed on your system or you have windows installed later than windows xp and want to install another operating system than use the following method.

First of all,
Please make sure you set the boot-priority first.

- you can go into bios by pressing the F12 or ESC key on your keyboard or if the key is different keep in mind when you turn your computer on you should see a small line at the first blink of your screen telling you to press a key to go to bios.

- Thank once you are in the bios please check the boot section and there set the boot-priority and by setting i mean the dvd drive or the cd drive should be apprering on the first section which means that your computer should boot from cd or dvd so that it can read your disc before it reads your hard-disk. remember to change this setting back once you have installed the windows.

- please insert the windows xp disc.

- than press enter on the bios screen and save changes and exit

- you comptuer will restart and

- it will take you straight to the point from where you can install windows using simple few clicks you just have to enter the serial number and your name etc. and the rest computer will do it-self.

Please let me know if there is anything else i can help you with.

Thank you.

Every time I need to do a back up, I'm told to insert blank disc, then I'm told "Disc needs formatting" but the formatting always fails, why?

Go to Start-->Control Panel-->Backup & Restore

Check Backup Destination. it should be CD Drive here. If it is CD Drive, then it will ask for inserting "Bannk Cd". I suggest you to insert new Bank CD/DVD to avoid formatting message. Also, if data is huge, it can not be write on CD/DVD.

I would suggest you to buy any external USB hardrive and set it as a BACKUP Path.

Need to make a back up copy of files i keep getting this running out of space on recovery d so i want to make a back up copy and it says n o disc do i insert the disc in the top part that opens on my drive...

Download ATF-Cleaner from here and run that. It will clean a BUNCH of "junk" files.

As to your CD drive, there should be a button to press to open it. Or, go to Start, My Computer, right-click on the CD drive hopefully listed there, and choose Eject.
