You can download the audio and device drivers from the Compaq/HP WEBsupport/download page. Make sure

Well this may be due to the inverter board found behind the LCD panel. Try to press around your screen to see if it stops.
You probably need to solder the loose solder of the coil found on your inverter board.
For this, you need to take the screen apart.

Booting up on the Windows XP CD will allow you to format your Hard Drive & install Windows. You may need to check your BIOS settings to ensure that you can boot from a CD, if you have never done that before. The motherboard CD may contain drivers for such things as video and sound or network, and these may not function at full capacity until the drivers are installed. Most drivers can also be downloaded from the manufacturers website if the CD is not available.
