Hi...when you reset the router back to factory defaults, all the settings are lost. Once you have the manual you will be able to reconfigure it, and reconnect to the internet.

Here is a link to the Dlink support page for Australia:
    http://www.dlink.com.au/tech/

Use the dropdowns to find your router model and click 'go'. The manual is under 'downloads'.

You need to know your router revision number. This is on a sticker on the base of the router - it's either A5 or B5 I think, but there's a photo to guide you on the DLink website.

If you have problems with this, or the manual doesn't help, please come back to Fixya. Good luck

Please call dlink tech support at 877-453-5465. just an advise on how to handle the call when you reach dlink tech support (agent); do not agree to call back after you troubleshoot with them (they'll be giving you a case id reference# and be advising you to check your pc or call "who" and call them back to continue the troubleshooting). insist to the agent that he need to resolve the problem asap (by the way, agents are not allowed to drop the call or they'll be dead-history!). and if the agent still insisted you to call back, ask for a "senior level technician" to finish the job (escalate the problem).
fyi: dlink tech support handling time to resolve a call is 15 to 18 minutes only. if you reach that 15-18 minutes (max) time the agent will think of a way for you to call back (advising you to check with your pc manufacturer, check with your ISP, call microsoft to update your software, etc... non-sense!) they need to do this in order to reach their handling time (agents need to reach 21 to 25 billable calls, and billable calls are "solution provided", "resolved", and "dropped call"). ---- believe me, i was one of them and repented.

I have dlink di-604,,the prob.is when i turn it on the led lights from WAN to 1234 continue blinking..i cant able to connect to the internet

Hi,

This looks like the firmware has failed on the unit as a firmware reset displays 1-4 flashing.

You can try holding the reset in while powered on for 10 sec, failing that it would be cheaper to replace the unit. You can pick up cheap routers from a company called TP-Link which are ok.

Hope this helps!

Ok My friend lets we talk about your solution.
Before all so many questions coming to my main like

what type of Internet connection do you have :
  1. IS DSL you need to know if your connection is Dynamic or PPOE. if you don't know just let me know the name of your Internet provider
  2. if Cable is easy just only need to clone the mac Address of your computer and you will get connected.
Ok my friend let me know if you cant do it and request me a remote your PC.

Note:the model of Belkin do you have is a old model but still usable ok?you lost your connectivity for the activation of security package in to your windows, after you reset your Router all configurations are lose

lets tried please again just let me know .

Ok i have a belkin wireles router num f5d8236-a v2 and when i first got it the modem light was flashing and now it will not detect the modem at all

I would do a factory reset of the router for the manual go to this website http://www.belkin.com/support/ Choose routers, then in the next page, in the first Dropdown "N", next dropdown, your model
this should be a direct link http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/detail/p/340/session/L3NpZC9ndm9QdExYag%3D%3D
Page 10 of the manual
The “Reset” button is used in rare cases when the Router may function
improperly. Resetting the Router will restore the Router’s normal
operation while maintaining the programmed settings. You can also
restore the factory default settings by using the “Reset” button. Use the
restore option in instances where you may have forgotten your custom
password.
i. Resetting the Router
Push and release the “Reset” button. The lights on the Router will
momentarily flash. The “Power/Ready” light will begin to blink. When
the “Power/Ready” light becomes solid again, the reset is complete.
ii. Restoring the Factory Defaults
Press and hold the “Reset” button for at least 10 seconds, then
release it. The lights on the Router will momentarily flash. The
“Power/Ready” light will begin to blink. When the “Power/Ready”
light becomes solid again, the restore is complete.
  • If this solutions solves you problem, please do not forget to rate my solution.
  • If not, then please comment back so I can help some more

The dsl light keeps flashing green or yellow on my netgear dg834 v5 router n i cant get on internet but it works with my netgear dg834 dg834 v2

The fact that it works ok with the dg834 v2 means you have a DSL enabled line and also connection to the internet
You also have all the configuration details within the V2 Router - you will need to know your ISP account password
Now on the V5 router - do a factory reset - theres a small hole at the back of the router 1. Press and hold the Default Reset button until the Test LED turns on (about 10 seconds). 2. Release the Default Reset button and wait for the router to reboot.

My Belkin G Wireless Router cant even get passed step 1. My lap top recieves the signal but their is no internet! Help please

Since your unable to access internet through the router(wireless) ,& globe light is flashing--I suggest you to refresh the network list and connect to your network again still if it won't work then you need to Re- configure it. Because your Modem(cable/dsl) is working fine. Check the ip address of your computer. if its invalid then you need to do the "reset" on router (ip address should be 192.168.2... range).
Or else you can call (toll free number) for belkin for reconfiguration
Hope this suggestion helps for you both...

Internet works via computer, not through router tho....

try to reset the router for 10-15 seconds. Access the configuration page of the router and reconfigure your router for Internet connection.

Try upgrading the firmware of your router.
