Iomega Minimax Power Supply

Hi, I've recently had the power supply to my iomega minimax 500GB hard disk stolen and i need to replace it. It seems that iomega now ship a newer generation of the HD than the one i have (purchased new about 8 months ago) and the new one has a different power supply connection! Can you recommend anywhere that would stock the older generation of minimax HDs, or can you identify the specifications of the power supply i'm after? Hope that makes sense!
Many thanks! Robin

SOURCE: How to lock an Iomega MiniMax 250 GB Hard Drive?

They make chains with locks that screw to a secure surface. (floor, wall, desk, specially made etc.) You then hook you hard drive to the secure lock and someone can't easily pilfer it. Hope that helps, Tim

I have an iomega minimax device that I cannot seem to connect to my imac. when i plug the device in nothing happens on the desktop.

try getting a new power cord from iomega, If that doesn;t work, the drive is probably corrupted. They are under a year warranty. You ship yours to them and they will send you a new one. Try the free chat on Iomega

My Iomaga 500GB will not start up. When I hit the power button on the rear the blue light flashes on very briefly & nothing. I have checked the power supply & that seems fine.

Sounds like either your drive enclosure or the drive itself has failed.

If the enclosure has failed and you don't have any crucial files on it that you don't already have elsewhere, contact Iomega for a warranty replacement.

If the enclosure has failed and you DO have important files on it, try having your local PC shop move the hard drive into a new enclosure, if that works you're done, buy the new enclosure.

If the above suggestion fails, your drive is damaged and you will need a pro to help get back your files. If this is the case, reply back with you location(Country, State and City) and I will pass along recommendations for your neck of the woods.

Hope this helps FixYa,

connect your harddisk to computer.
Then right click on my computer icon then click on "Manage"
then click on "Disk Management"

then find your removable device then you find unpartitioned space create new partition .then check.

Also check jumper settings of your harddisk.
It should not be on 16 bit or 32 bit in hardisk.

Yes. The MiniMax is designed to match the MacMini from Apple and comes formatted out of the box to work with a Mac. (One of the few drives that is!)
I think Iomega supply various Windows drivers on the CD
