How to adjust touchpad thoshiba porteg? 500

Whil writing my texts coonstantly get messed up, because I happen to be touching the pad.
The Manual says: System - Mouse

But at Mouse I do not find a possibility to change the touchpad settings.

The Thoshiba-support isnt of any help.

Frankly, buying a portege was not a good idea.

thanx, but fn and f9 does not get me any reaction. I do believe that IF you have an external mouse you can turnoff touchpad with fn and f9, but not adjust it

Hi,
a 6ya Technician can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

My touch pad will not work after I had someone upgrade the windows for me. They wiped my whole system including the tablet software. How can I get that back onto my pc?

Sounds like the driver didnt get installed back onto your computer correctly. If you go here: http://www.trigem.com/us/support/drivers.asp and download the one that says touch pad and install it. You may need to get a external mouse in order to install and complete these actions in order to get your laptop mouse working again!
Best of luck!

Mouse touch pad quit working ... must use an old usb mouse in order to do anything.

Well i'm not there, so i can't actually fix it for you, but chances are, assuming nothing out of the ordinary happened to it (eg, dropping it) you may have accidentally locked the mousepad. You can fix this in the control panel. I forget exactly where though...

I want to write pen with toshiba portege tablet on XP

If you have Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005 installed on it, you can use the Wacom Pen to enter text instesd of type it.

On Windows XP tablet PC Edition 2005, there is an Input panel Icon on the tray bar, usually to the left, close to the Start button.
Use the pen to click the Input Panel. When it opens showing you a black line on yellowish backround you can start using the pen as if it were on paper. Depending on the pen input setting it will insert automatically or waits for you to press the insert button.
However for the converted text to be inserted you need to have a text editing software open (Word Pad for example.)

If when you open the input panel you see a keyboard you can change that to handwriting (continuous line) or typing separate letters.

The computer can be taught to recognize your handwriting: You will need to practice. You might have to download and install the relevant ink recognition package for your language. Look for it on the Microsoft tablet PC page.

Your laptop needs to visit a laptop service/repair centre.

However you can purchase and make use of a USB mouse; it'd serve.

If you own one, use it instead.
