Question about Projection Televisions

Open Question

Beko 42WP300PS switching on

I recently tried to turn off the tv (standby button on remote), but it took longer than usual (which happens more often) so I switched it off with the button under the tv to fully turn it off (which turned out to be a bad idea). I turned it back on. The light was still blue (on) instead of red (standby) and it immediately stopped.
I could only turn it on by holding the button on the tv for turning it on. So when I hold the button I could set it on stand by, but that doesn't matter because it always automatically stops when i release the button of the tv...

Thank you for reading and hopefully somebody has a solution..

SOURCE: Need Help big screen turns on thens goes off

The blinking light tells you what is wrong with the circuit. If it blinks 3 times it is the convergence amplifiler. I had this problem and tried to fix it myself and I don't think that I have it connected good enough. I know this is the problem with mine. I will let you know if this fixes that. Let me see what 5 blinking lites mean. I will tell you what each blink means from the repair manual, 1 blink is +140 circuit, 2 blinks is Low DC, 3 blinks is convergence, 4 blinks is HHS, 5 blinks is IC4011, 6 blinks is IC4018. I hope this helps. You can get a repair manual at servicemanuals.com it really helped me. I will let you know how my repair goes. I hope this helps. Rick

Hey dudes...even i hav had the same problem that too with the same model specified here..Its a problem actually concerned with the power circuit boards of the tv. Its best to get it checked by an authorized technician. For me I had to replace a transistor on one of the boards. But after that my tv came up with a new problem....the colours appear like rainbows! If the lamp has been replaced I would think the Lamp ballast would be most likliest followed by the color wheel and then the Digital board. You can get any part needed for your model at www.tvrepairworld.com just leave them a email they respond quickly.

SOURCE: Pioneer SD-532HD5 Projection Screen TV won't turn back on.

the problem with pioneer projection tvs is that when they made the boards they never used enough solder for the circuits and you get cracks in the runs. thats why heat and cold will effect it. I had the same problem and I took out the board and resoldered every track I could and it works good now but my remote wont work if anyone has any info or prints to this tv please post on here

Can't turn on

When you turn the MAIN off you are killing all power to the set---Some advice---If you Google the model number of this set with the word problem after it you should find what I have seen a lot in these sets: they develop bad solder connections on the power supply printed circuit board---usually the board is about 18 inches tall and 12 inches wide--A number of sites online offer to have you ship them the board and they will resolder it for you.
I have repaired about 12 of these with this problem in the last 2 years---The board has to be removed(there are quite a few plugs that need to be labeled and removed and lots of screws that secure the board in place.)

Maybe not a job for a do it yourself person but the soldering (if it is your problem) will take about 45 minutes(including removal and installing board back).

Like most modern sets this set uses lead free solder and it is soldered(the boards) in a wave or one step process---over time from heat and expansion some connections may crack or even break loose----I would look at the POWER SUPPLY board(follow the power cord as it goes right to it)

If you have any questions or need help please contact me here.

I do this here for free so if this information has helped you take a minute and give me a vote here.
