Problem for Canon LBP 800 Laser Printer

Compatibility of parallel and usb

I have Canon LBP-800 laser printer with parallel prot and have computer with USB port.
I connect my LBP-800 printer with Parallel and USB Converter but printer is not functioning. I am using Windows XP.
Please solve the problem in details.
