Plz go to bios (press del key while your pc is booting) check for advance setting or boot order and select the first boot device as cd rom and press f 10 for saving and come out of the bios.

What does flashing globe on white screen on mac meanmacbook pro

If by flashing globe you mean spinning globe (often a colored beach ball), there are several possible reasons. The spinning beach ball happens when a operating system command cannot be completed. The computer is frozen/stuck in a process that it can't complete.
Most often the cause is faulty or missing information on the hard drive. Running Disk Utility will often fix it. You may need to start the computer from your OS install disk and rather than install find Disk Utility in the pull down menu and run it on your hard drive.
The spinning ball could also be caused by insufficient RAM memory to even run the operating system. It could also be caused by hardware problems which can be diagnosed with the Apple Hardware Test found on the disks sold with the machine.
If you truly mean a flashing round globe, I have never seen such a figure. Flashing question marks or flashing circle with a slash through it means the mac cannot find a bootable hard drive. Your hard drive may have died or become corrupted. To see if you hard drive is defective, again run Disk Utility by booting off an install CD or another hard drive with a compatible MacOSX operating system to diagnose.
Try running the repair disk program under the general tab of the Disk Utility program.

How to repair mac hard drives with the disk utility

If you are having problems with crashing slow running or an app not opening or quitting on you this should help. <br /> First start up with the "c" key held down, this does some system housekeeping and boots in to safe boot, if this does not work or you get a folder with a question mark icon then you need to boot from a Cd (or DVD) with computer off and this works for all macs running OSX, insert the Cd into the drive when the mac is off, start with the"c" key held down until the chime or the screen lights up, when booted select language (dont worry you do not have to perform an install) the next screen has a menu along the top, select utilities and you get a new menu, select disk utility and when it has gathered information you will see your hard drive in the left of the window. Select your hard drive and then select "disk repair" run this and it will either pass the disk as Ok, repair the disk or fail it ( the repair is all about the directories where it keeps all the files, if it get corrupted the whole machine gets lost but all your information is ok) If it fails you need a 3rd party utility like DiskWarrior to rebuild your directories. Assuming this goes well then select permissionsrepair, this should be run anytime you install any software or updates (it can be run from the systems own disk utility in the applications folder but the boot disk version is better) it takes a while. When this is finished quit disk utility and from the same menu select start up disk utility and select your hard drive and then select restart.

My macbook is frozen on booting up w apple and spinning circle. I have tried several things found online but didn't work ...please help!

ok some macs behave differently so when booting up continually hit f2 and it may take you to a bios or produce its sigh noise and boot up. however on some newer macs this is f12. alternatively putting in your install disc will prompt it to boot from cd and then you can potentially trick is to booting.
make sure nothing is connected when booting. it may be a hard drive corruption and possibly re installing the operating system will resolve this.
but you will lose data.

Problem reloading OS on toshiba laptop

Hi there,

It has to configure the boot sequence into the CMOS settings. You may need to enter the CMOS settings and correct the desired loading sequence of the drive.

If I'm not mistakenly you can go to that setting by pressing the DEL button on your Laptop. There you can see the boot sequence where the first drive you want to load can changed. or you may also try pressing the ESC, first restart the laptop the press the ESC key at least twice, after the list of drive will be display select the CDROM that you want to first load.

Let me know for any clarifications.

My acer notebook laptop won't start up widows at all.

An application programming interface (API) is an interface implemented by a software program to enable interaction with other software, much in the same way that a user interface facilitates interaction between humans and computers. APIs are implemented by applications, libraries and operating systems to determine the vocabulary and calling conventions the programmer should employ to use their services. It may include specifications for routines, data structures, object classes and protocols used to communicate between the consumer and implementer of the API.

Your system is infected by Boot sector Virus or trojans or Malware or Rootkit trojans. You need to scan it.But as you can't boot your system, you won't be able to perform a normal scan.

Download "Hiren's Boot CD" below is the link

http://hirens.longcomputerservices.com/Hirens.BootCD.10.1.zip

Download the file and extract it with winzip or Winrar.
Burn the ISO image and boot the system using "Hiren's Boot CD" (Set the BIOS to Boot from CD-ROM).

This CD has preinstalled Anti-virus,try to scan the system and rootkit revealer to remove Rootkit trojans.

and check.

if the problem still persists, you can used this CD and backup all your important data by selecting "Start Mini Windows XP"

Good Luck.

It cannot find the operating system because of the bad hard drive or the OS on the hard drive is corrupted. Try booting of the OS CD you have.

I am having trouble reinstalling OS on an ibook g4 I got it to run trough some of the setup but it errored out. when tried again I am no longer able to boot off of cd drive

If you are not able to boot off the cd rom then please just goto BIOS setup of your system and simply change Boot order ( or priorities) to cd rom. and then you will be able to boot properly. Don't panic it will get installed smoothly then.

If this solution was helpful to you then please rate 100% (or FIXYA) for this solution, otherwise don't rate at all. It was my pleasure helping you.

My Mac wont work. blinking Folder with "?"

Another alternative is to hold the "option" key as the Mac boots up to force it to recheck possible blessed start-up disks. If your hard disk drive shows up, select it. When it boots into OS X, immediately back up your data and restart the Mac with the OS X DVD (or CD) Install Disk. When you're in the boot menu from the OS X Install Disk, select "Utilities" then "Repair drive" and select your HDD. That should help OS X repair any file permissions or data corruption that may have occurred. I would also look into getting a new HDD. It seems to me that your current one may be failing and need replacement.
