Manual tray feed problem on Xante Platemaker 3 laser printer

HiHave a problem with feeding plates from the manual feed tray on my Xante Platemaker 3.Where can I get a picture of the pickup mechanism, and spares if I need them : rubber tracks, clutch, interrupt sensor? Should be able to do it myself if I can get the bits.

Well, my printer not recognize the plate in the bypass tray, ever tell me "Feed the 'X' size" and I can't print nothing :(

Our Platemaker 3's manual tray gave up the ghost years ago. We bypassed the problem by printing plates from the cassette. I use Quark, so in the Quark print menu, I select "tabloid" paper size, then shift the image to the right 1" to compensate for it thinking the paper size is smaller than the plates.

We just leave the hickey-do that goes up against the paper set in the tabloid spot and the plates sort of lay up over that.

You may have to change your settings in the program you're printing from to say "tabloid" instead of the plate size. You basically set everything to make the printer think it's printing 11x17 paper instead of a plate. The only thing I leave the same as a plate is the setting in Quark that says, "Media Type". I leave it on Polyester Plate.

Xante 3G - indicates 'print' then constant 'front paper jam' (any size)

That is cause the paper feeder is not working properly. It could cause the roller that feed the paper wear out or a bad tray release selenoid

Xante platemaker II paper jam error

Sometimes the sensor which detects paper jams gets knocked out of position during moves. NEVER move a printer while it is on. Don't even slide it around on your desk a little bit. If this is the case, your printer needs a replacement sensor which likely requires a professional to install. It would probably be cheaper to buy a new one anyways.

You can try the following to correct the issue:
1.Get a can of compressed air. As per the directions on the can, dust anything you can get at within the printer without moving or touching the internal mechanisms. It is possible that dust or smoke has gotten onto the sensor and is causing false paper jams.

2.open the rear access panel of the machine. You will see black rollers. With a slightly damp cloth (no paper towels) gently wipe at the rollers. Dirty rollers will not grab the paper properly and this may be confusing the mechanism.

I have a Dell 5210N mono printer. And I want to use the manual feed tray as a second paper drawer for letterhead paper only, ie leave a whole stack of paper in the manual feed. Then when I select manual...

Check the software provided or installed on your Computer you use for work(printing software), look for print properties, check for print settings, look for manual Feed, Under manual Feed, set it for letterheads, however this has to correspond with the Applications you are using to print letterheads out of( under print, into the preferrences you should be able to have the settings as well). If your printer software does have these settings, then you will have to do it Manually upon every print.

It won't print - says manual feed - load paper tray. Its a brand new printer (Brother HL-4040CDN) and the paper tray is full

The printer has an "alternate" feed, i.e., for envelopes and/or for special paper.

Open the door to access that "manual" tray, take some paper from the "normal" tray, and insert the paper into the "manual" tray.

Or, on the printer's controls, set the "standard" feed, rather than the "manual" feed, and press PRINT.
