Nintendo DS Lite power adaptor disconnection problem

Power adaptor for Nintendo DS Lite is stuck in the Lite console. Do you know how to get it out? Brute force doesn't work and the console is brand new, this was the first charge!

Thanks for the suggestion but I can't budge it, feels like it will snap off.

Yep "Nintendo" is facing up. I can't believe this has happened straight out of the box! Is this a common problem for others? Thanks for suggestions so far. Will be going back to Nintendo asap.

There is a small latch on the connector that may be stuck. Try this. Turn the DS Lite upside down with the charger plug facing away from you. Press down the on the plug gently with your right thumb and with your left hand pull the connect away from the socket. FYI this should be a simple fit! Make sure the connector was not jammed in upside down to start with. It has a clear six sided shape to it!

On the charger the name 'Nintendo' should be facing top! You'd have to be pretty special to get the connector in upside down! If it were me I'd sacrife the charger and cut awat carefully at the connector until its component parts are exposed and could be pulled away individualy. However, there is a good chance the console's socket is now damaged. Off to Nintendo service I am afraid...

Does a nintendo ds lite need the battery in to power up on just the adaptor?

The adaptor is only to recharge the battery. If you only use the adaptor without battery, I'm sure nothing will happen. You need the battery in or you can't play. But you can play with both the battery and adaptor in at the same time. It makes your battery recharge + you can play meantime.

Nintendo ds lite console

Hi,

Not that common a problem. Have one on my desk at the moment with the same problem. It seems that the game bent two of the contacts in the card reader (ds lite game section -slot 1). I opened the slot and straightened the two pins and this solved the problem.

Be careful if you are doing this as it is quiet tricky with a good few small parts.

Nintendo DS Will Not Charge

Try if the battery is charged right, when batter is fully charged disconnect from AC adapter. Hold the power button for 5 seconds. If it does not work that means that you need a replacement battery for the Nintendo DS. When you receive the replacement batter, follow the steps again.

By the way,L2,L4 is not fuse,
