Re: Start Up Problem

Ok Here is the REAL way to fix this: Most people dont think the V36 - V37 neet to be put back to " out of the box " settings, SO....

1. Turn off the main switch ( behind the battery door V36 ) (ON OFF on the bottom, back V37 )

2. Remove the battery V36 no need V37

3. Heres the one everyone overlooks REMOVE ANY STORAGE CARDS

4. Give it about five min to sit

6. Turn on the power switch

7. Wait for the unit to start, go through the start up instructions on your unit.

8. VERY IMPORTANT: This sucks, you have to clear and re-format your storage card there may be something there that is conflicting with your unit, I know this sucks, I know, but move any files you want to keep, picts, documents, excel files etc to your PC or Laptop for safe keeping, DO NOT KEEP BACK UP FILES OR PROGRAMS INSTALLED HERE, they can cause problems. Once you re-format your card move your files back to your storage card, if the problem happens again then its a file you may have saved so at this point clear the card of ALL files start at number 1 and when you get back to 9 everything should work just fine.

9. You are ready to start over, install first any patch files for the folding keyboard, keyboard drivers or IO card drivers first, that will insure they will work, if you start installing other programs they may write files to your unit that will prevent them from installing correctly.

10. Install your reformatted storage card and start re-installing your software.

I hope this helps, I have owned the V35, V36 and V37 Viewsonic Pocket PC's and have had my fair share of problems with them but nothing that cant be fixed somehow and no more than any other Pocket PC's out there.

Re: Start Up Problem

Hello everyone, I´ve found out that this happens when the internal cmos battery drains out, since I´m located in Venezuela and this battery is hard to find, I´ve decided to recharge it for 5 min. on a normal battery charger, then I proceded to cold boot the unit and worked out just great. I Hope this helps.

Re: Start Up Problem

Why don't you try to do a hard reset by one finger you hold the power button, the other hand use your stylus if this PDA has to hit on reset point at either at the bottom of the unit or aside and at the same time to bring th eunit back to the manufactuer default setting and from there, you may be able to find out what is going in on. The symtom is seem your PDA has software or firmware conflict and you may need to sync with PC to rerun an update firmware. Please visit and check for download and update for detail. You may be able to see some solution there from other users. I hope this help.

Im charging my xperia x1 and then suddenly it goes off and cant open it what should i do?

Take out the battery, wait for 10 seconds, then put it back again.

Once done, then please try to start the phone again.

It looks like an issue with the battery itself.

If you require any further assistance, please comment and let me know, and I will be happy to assist you to further resolve your issue.

I will appreciate your feedback and positive rating for this solution.
Thank you.

Please my screen has been frozen on the boot page and i dont know what to do i paid $300 for it help please

Remove the RAM access panel, you will see your ram chips and above these is the wlan controller and directly beside it a small black chip that says Nvidia. This is your graphics chip. We want to leave these COMPLETELY exposed at all times (you might as well get used to just not having the panel on for this fix).

From a cold start (i.e. the computer is completely off and unpowered) boot once, wait about 5-10 seconds. This will allow the motherboard to build up some heat... If you touch your graphics chipset you will notice it's started to warm up. Now go ahead and power the computer down, it's not going to boot on this attempt, but we got the solder warm.

Again power the computer on, and wait a few seconds. This time you should hear your fan magically kick on (assuming the fan is still working, as it is in mine). AFTER, and only after you hear the fan rev up to full speed, begin applying FIRM pressure with your index finger to the gpu (the black chip that says nvidia). Just wait a few seconds and voila, your HP POST screen magically appears.

I've had to do this with this laptop for nearly 2 years now. It never takes more than one to two tries to get it to start up. A word of warning: Do NOT close the screen, you only have about a 5% chance of it actually coming back on when you open it back up.

I'm aware this is a "quick and dirty" fix. If you have the patience and the cash you should just send it in to HP and have them fix it for you. If you have the skill, you should reflow the chip to the motherboard and fix the problem yourself.

If you're like me and you're lazy and broke, this fix will do the trick for the rest of the laptop's lifetime. :)

Blackberry 8100 wont start at all! this morning it was just fine till the alarm shouted up and the screen went blank (that reminded me of the famous blue screen windows xp error) so i turn it off and now...

Remove the battery, wait a few minutes, and replace the battery while holding down the power button for 15 seconds. You may have to restore your data.

It says wait fifteen seconds and thats it

I believe you have an application that is conflicting with the system.

On the back of the device is a battery power switch, you will need to flip this and hard-reset the device. WARNING: You will loose all the information on the device.

At this point you can try updating, restoring your data, and then re-install your applications one at a time.

What is the hard reset for a blackberry pearl? they keypad isnt working and i dont know what to do and someone said to do the hard reset and i dont know what that is

Remove the battery cover and take out the battery. Wait 30 seconds and replace the battery and your phone will automatically start back up. The start-up process takes a while, sometimes 15 minutes, so be patient and walk away. It seems like it takes forever, but just think of it like a watched pot never boils; a watched blackberry never starts back up! Haha, it will start back up though, just be patient. This is the way to perform a hard reset on the blackberries.
